I’m not sure why as if you weren’t there what would she do or eat? I think I’d have thrown in the towel by now Buffy. You’re doing incredibly well especially given your job. Please be kind to yourself x
If you were unconscious in hospital what would happen? If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.2 -
It is untenable. I think at this point she actually can't do anything, physically and every day is a real struggle for her. I also think it is her fear overwhelming her, cos if I am not ok, then there isn't anyone else and being on her own isn't worth the struggle. Plus she is depressed.
The heating doesn't work because Mum has put the service for the heating off over the years. It works downstairs and although her room doesn't have heating (as far as I can tell) the spare room does so she has residue heating from that. Normally I am too hot in the house so my cool room is a relief, also I have door open but now I am isolating it is shut and oh boy is it cold in here!
It never mattered before cos I am so rarely in my room, but sitting here I realise how low down on the list I am. Like stupidly low.
Nevertheless she persisted.2 -
Things they don't tell you about Covid..
1. The aches and pains are AGONY.
2. You have no sense of balance and spend a lot of time falling over. or nearly falling over.
3. Room temperature foods are carboard.
4. You can only eat things that are hot or cold.Nevertheless she persisted.2 -
I did a bit of a property search and whereas flats used to be around 220,000, there are now some for 200,000 and one for 180,000 but that had a short lease. Mostly they are still 250,000 plus. But it was nice to have a page of possibilities.
Maybe it is the beginning of the endNevertheless she persisted.3 -

I agree with the aches and pains and the lack of balance. You have to take it slowly, you will feel better some days then you will have a bad day, just take it slowly and don't do too much.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.3 -
I am so sorry you have Covid Buffy and do take care of yourself. A very wise person told me once that before you can love others you have to love yourself. It is not good for you to always be putting your mum, sister, pets, friends etc before yourself because people always tend to expect you always to do that and on the odd occasion you need to be put first when you are ill for example then they don't reciprocate. When you are feeling better please do get someone in to look at your heating and maybe make 2022 either the year to make your living conditions better or get your own place so you have some security moving forward.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. NO HEATING!!!!!!!!!!!! And you are ill & not with a sniffle either. You need to tell your siblings you are out of there. It is all very well being the one who "cares" but the first one you should be caring for is yourself. It's like when an aeroplane is going down, you put your own oxygen mask on first before anyone elses otherwise you are all going without oxygen.Would you have put up with this rubbish when you were 20 years younger? I am guessing not. I suspect you have let life destroy your confidence, so I am going to tell you a story.About 20 years ago I was in a supermarket & I couldn't reach something that was on a top shelf, that was nothing new & I usually just gave up & bought an alternative, but this time I really wanted that, so as a few shelf fillers were pretty close I just said "excuse me but can somebody help me." One of them looked round & frankly with my greying hair just totally ignored me. I just left without what I wanted, rather embarrassed to be ignored if I'm honest. Next morning I rang my hairdressers & instead of my usual cut, I booked for a cut & colour. Doing my shopping the next week I also asked for help, 3 of them were there from further away than the previous week. The only difference was my hair colour & frankly the attitude it had given me. My hairdresser has instructions to change the hair colour if it is no longer the best for me & indeed she did about 5 years ago, but I am still a carrot head. I am not suggesting you dye your hair (but if the spirit moves you then why not) but that you stand up, shoulders back & shout that YOU are important. Because if you don't think you are then no-one else will. And WE all know that you are important.5

Sorry didn't mean to come over quite so stroppy but I got a little wound up over the weekend. It doesn't mean that I don't think what I said was true though.
