  • We took the tv out of the living room a few weeks ago when we realised we hadn't turned it on for ages.  We do watch it occasionally in the evenings in bed, but literally one episode of something and I'm asleep.  I listen to the radio in what ever room I'm in and DH watches his sci-fi stuff on his computer but again, that's rarely.  We found we'd sit and search for something to watch and then both lose interest fairly quickly.   Just can't be bothered with it.

  • Mum and I don't watch much together, especially when I am at work but in the holidays I like a good hunt for something to watch. And I do watch a lot of repeats, I am awful for sticking a film on and cleaning or sorting with it. Or napping............:)

I had a good night's sleep last night and don't have that weird washed out feeling, I am going to finish the rabbits and move small bun outside, there is a high of 12 today so it won't be a huge shock for her. Well. I feel bad and she will have a hot thing but there isn't room for her inside. :( Stupid weather.

In a shocking development I had cereal and yogurt for breakfast.

Post rabbits, today is going to be about washing, hoovering and gathering charity shop stuff. I hope to drop it off tomorrow.

Can't believe it is Wednesday already. I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally don't want to go back to work and all that stress.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Yep it is.

I hoovered the living room - moving furniture type hoovering, Washed the seat covers too. Mum took ages to do anything today so I didn't get out to the rabbits till two, Tried bonding the pairs, it didn't go well at all. The not foster girl is hugely confident and not worried about attacking my two.

Instead I made a start on dividing up the aviary into three sections. Took apart one 5 foot two storey hutch and replaced with a smaller hutch. swept up the place, gather 2 and half bin liners of rubbish, re organised the storage and it should be easy to finish off tomorrow and put small bun outside, all with sort of equal space.

Unfortunately even tho I came in exhausted Mum didn't want snack food (we still have loads left) and I am back on the meat and potatoes cooking. Really depressing especially since she had a roast dinner yesterday, took HOURS of my time and yes it was nice but I don't want to cook like that again for a while. Yet here I am boiled potatoes and waiting for a chicken pie to cook. I am having turkey and crackers as planned.

Makes me so angry. She is all resentful!! WHY ????

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Very productive day apart from the food. I don’t know how you have the patience though Buffy x

The answer to that is "just because".  I wouldn't be surprised if she also treated your father to some of the "just because" behaviour.  No reason ever required!

Sometimes I get so fed up of the whole day revolving around cooking Mr SA’s meals although on the plus side he is grateful for whatever I make him. I’d be inclined to cook something then if your mum doesn’t want it then tough.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I don't, she knew full well I was annoyed. I appreciate people will say leave her to it but she can't cook anything any more. It would just be nice to have some consideration or actually LISTEN to me when I tell her the plan for the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If she likes mash, then cook a huge pan full then portion it up (you can get the foil trays with cardboard lids in Poundland etc) and freeze. You can cook it from frozen, pop it in whilst the oven is warming up to cook a pie, give it a stir half way through and it's far less hassle.

We got a huge load of potatoes from the Olio app this week so I've boiled loads, mashed them and filled every container we have.  Much easier to have "building blocks" of food available for ease.  I was going to do a risotto tonight but couldn't be faffed so a dish of mash went in the halogen for 25 mins, I steamed some veg, heated up some gravy and dished it up with cold meat (I don't faff with heating the meat but it could go in the gravy to heat through). You could freeze meat sliced in gravy too and it can pop in the oven at the same time as the mash....
