  • Beanie, that is not good news, a complaint is definitely warranted.

Gained 1lb last night, not stressing as the antibiotics have thrown my eating pattern out the window.

Moved to a new venue, was so busy! Was good to see that quite a few moved from the original venue, but there were about 8 or new new starters, so glad for the consultant as it must be difficult to put a lot of effort into running a group without the rewards.

Continuing on my off plan, tired and hormonal week!

B fruit and fibre ss milk

    L pot pasta

D baked potato tuna and bits

  • Morning all.  Thanks for the well wishes for DH, he's over the moon!  The chinese was very nice, I didn't eat all my portions so that's gone in the freezer for a treat at another time.

Glad you enjoyed the fishcakes @maman, they do feel like a real treat but are good on syns.  Might see if I can pick some up over the weekend myself.

Sorry to hear your car woes @beanielou agree that the work should be re-done under guarantee, but of course that doesn't help you with the lack of car.

I'm sure you'll get that lb off soon @Gettingtherequickly once you've finished the antibiotics.

DH has been waking up really early this week too @klew356 I think the sudden change in weather hasn't been helping, hope you have a relatively easy Friday and get some rest over the weekend.

Hoping for an easy day today, yesterday in the office was pretty busy but I do have a coaching session to run at 3.30 this afternoon so that should be fun 🙄  Had usual ff yogurt and fruit for breakfast, lunch is going to be some leftover veg stew and rice that I was going to have for my lunch yesterday but didn't get round to it and then dinner tonight is homemade pizza as per DH's request (he wants to use his new BBQ pizza oven finally, although it looks like it might rain!)  Not using any other syns today so hoping that will make up for it.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Back again!  Change of plan for lunch - forgot there was still ham in the fridge so ended up with eggs, chips & beans.  I cheated and bought a bag of the SW chips for ease and convenience and cooked them in the air fryer.  They were OK but not as nice as making our own chips but at least they are still Free!  I can't cut chips at the moment (I still can't put any pressure on a knife with my right hand because of my torn tendon so looks like it's going to be a long time until that's sorted so DH is going to have to do it for the time being).

I forgot to mention this morning that I spoke to my GP yesterday and he's said I did the right thing cancelling in the physio in light of the scan result!  It was the same GP who referred me!  He's now referring me to an Orthopaedic surgeon to see whether it requires surgery although he thinks it might be that because of my age they might decide not to operate.  Talk about making me feel old!  Yes I'm retired but I don't feel like I've got a foot in the grave yet!

Result as WI wasn't as good as I'd have liked as it was only 0.5lb but at least it means I can have another few weeks without going to group as that takes me back to top end of target.  Really would like to shift a couple more lbs at least but it's really difficult at the moment but I've no idea why.  It feels a bit like @bubbs has been with sticking to plan but not losing as well as I ought to be.

@ruby_eskimo - The pizza base dough works out at 23 syns using 125g of strong plain flour plus 0.5 per tsp dried yeast so you can definitely have half a pizza if you stick to syn free or low syn toppings and use your HEA of cheese on top.

At least you got back into range @joedenise so have another up to 8 weeks leeway. I know how you feel as I'd love to just lose that extra 3lbs . It seems you trying daily syns again didn't help much. I'm glad in a way as I'd find daily syns so hard as I'm used to the weekly bank.

That seems ridiculous that they might consider leaving you without proper use of your arm because of your age! There are so many everyday tasks you find painful and that applies to any age.   I do hope you get to see a consultant to, at least, discuss it. Unfortunately, the waiting lists are massive so has your GP any ideas how you could help things along in the meantime? 🤔

I've heard that a number of medications can affect weightloss @gettingtheresometime.

    Back soon. 😊

@maman - no the Dr didn't give me any advice whatsoever.  He didn't even mention the scan result until I did!  At first he said that he hadn't got it but then had a look and said oh it is there!  The guy doing the scan said it would definitely be with the GP before my appointment yesterday!  I told him I'd cancelled my physio until I'd spoken to him and he agreed that it's not a good idea at the moment because it is mainly stretching which isn't good for a tear - exactly what I'd thought.

The trouble is it's painful doing the simplest of things like hanging the washing on the line, it's impossible to tuck my t-shirt into my trousers.  I've already said about not being able to fasten my bra at the back but I'm getting used to that now but it still takes me ages to get it to sit comfortably!

To be honest I don't think you even realise how often you actually need to stretch to do things - I know I didn't!

@bubbs - good luck for WI tomorrow and enjoy Bletchley Park and your picnic.  Hope the weather holds for you and there's no rain.  Seems like you got a lot sorted out with your nurse this morning.  Well done on your sugar levels and your BP.

Which reminds me I've got to book a telephone appointment with the nurse in a couple of weeks time re my COPD review as she wants to make sure that it's the pain which is causing me to get more breathless.  Well it's certainly looking that way because as the pain has eased a bit, although not enough to not still need pain meds from time to time especially at night so that I can sleep, I haven't had to use my inhaler anywhere near as often.  She also wants me to check my BP in the couple of weeks beforehand which is OK as I've got a BP monitor which I use quite regularly to keep an eye on it.

That's great news about your diabetes review @bubbs. It means that having a few more carbs and your HEBs isn't affecting your health. 😊 Have a great time tomorrow.

The cauliflowers on Aldi Super 6 were really good. I only bought 1 as we're out twice this coming week and I didn't need much.

Disappointed to see that Sainsbury's has stopped selling the Rankin Soda Bread that I like. They have an alternative soda bread but it's just brown and not a HEB. They don't sell Burgen any more either so I'll have to look out a tasty, nutty wholemeal that I'll enjoy.  I don't mind paying a bit more as the most I have is 1 slice a day.

    Today's EE plan-

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA1 milk
L- LO corned beef hash (P,F,S), fried egg (P), beetroot (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), carrots, tomato, broccoli, garlic mushrooms with HEA2 (S)
    Syns- weekend wine😁
