Glad the injection wasn't too painful @bubbs.

@maman - have you thought about sticking with G&Ts at the weekend rather than wine to reduce the syns?  I know I certainly have less syns when I stick to spirits - think that was the problem this weekend as we had wine and far more than we ought to have done!

I'm going to have another count up of my syns since last Friday to see how many I have left for tomorrow but think I should be OK as have kept quite low since we came back on Sunday.  Think I should have about 8-10 left for tomorrow which is fine; suspect I won't even need that many!

That should keep you going @bubbs until it's time for tea. 😊

I went to the Company Shop today!! I really only went to pick up my card and check the best way to get there. Easy, less than 3 miles away. I had a look around while I was there and spent all of £3 on some Waitrose cooked chicken, 3 chicken breasts, onions and some biscuits for DH. I think you need to be a fairly canny shopper to get the best value as I could see that many things were Aldi or Farmfoods prices at best or more.

I do need a plan for the weekend @joedenise. I'm thinking about an AFF (Alcohol Free Friday) but switching to gin could work too. The way I follow the plan since getting to target (100 %syns and some eating out on top) would work fine for maintaining but not losing. If only I could get down to target or below to have some leeway. 🤔 It could be worse though. I met some friends last week for the first time since lockdown and they looked much larger than last time I saw them. 🤣
  • Bubbs, hope BIL is on the mend.

Welcome to the mad house Seasidegal, think Denise is the one who keeps us on the straight & narrow, I would be wary of Bubbs  though!

Well done on the losses, psyching myself up for a pretty large gain from my weekend away :( The only sign of speed was the evening I cooked, and I could only do my best with what was available where ever we were at lunch times. However, it was a really good weekend, stayed in a fabulous converted barn, huge bedrooms which made the kingsize beds look like single beds! Oh, and we did about 20,000 steps each day :)
A smile costs little but creates much :)

@Gettingtherequickly - not sure I'm the one for keeping you all on the straight and narrow, LOL!  I'm currently out of target and struggling to get back in.  The converted barn sounds amazing; glad you enjoyed your weekend away and well done on the body magic.  It all helps.

I feel the same way @maman; would love to get back down to target so there's a bit of leeway but it seems to go up easily enough but just doesn't want to shift in the opposite direction.  I've had another good week which is well within syns - added them up earlier and I've actually still got 22 syns left - however did that happen.  I suspect that I may have under estimated our meals out but not by that much - I've doubled the syns of the highest value SM equivalent so hopefully I'm not too far out but we'll see on Friday morning!

@Seasidegal58 I assume you're using 800g wholemeal loaf as you've counted HEB + 6 syns?  I don't know if you have a Morrisons or a Tesco near you but both of them do a 800g loaf that you can have 2 slices for HEB!  I buy the Morrisons own brand medium wholemeal but if you only have a Tesco then the Neville's 800g wholemeal is also 2 slices for HEB.  I don't mind that one for toast but not keen on it for a sandwich!  🤞 for WI tomorrow!

I wondered if you'd made a typo with the curry - think you said you were vegetarian?  One of my favourite veggie curries is a chickpea and butternut squash curry.

DH asked me if I'd done something wrong tonight because the batter on the toad in the hole had risen so much!  No idea why as I made it exactly the same as I usually do, perhaps it was because the eggs were fresh, as in only bought today not laid today, LOL!

@joedenise - thank you for info on the loaves. I don't have a Morrison's near me but have a small Tesco so will look out for the Neville's loaf when I finished my current bread supply.
I did make a typo with the curry - it was a chickpea and mushroom curry that I made. I am mainly vegetarian now - I don't buy any meat/fish products and stick to Oatly for milk and sunflower/olive spreads for sandwiches/toast. I do come off piste re meat/fish/cakes when I'm eating out depending on what's on offer.
Yesterday was my first WI day - I lost 3.5 lbs. which is good I know but I was a little disappointed as I always show a really good loss after my first week of a diet. When I was on the Fast 800 shakes I lost 10lb and have usually lost 5-6lb when I've previously tried SW and WW. Still I know this loss is mostly water so I'm not going to get disparaged. Actually there was a very large guy that joined last week with me and he lost 5,5lbs. I really thought he would lose a lot more.  Anyway, I'm in this for the long haul. 😃👍
After the class yesterday morning I had joined my friends for coffee - I had two flat whites with oat milk (HEA1), a ham sandwich (two medium slices of wholemeal bread (HEB and 6 syns)), spread which I have guesstimated at  3.5 syns), and mustard (half syn). This was accompanied by a small salad and a handful of ridged crisps which again I'm having to guesstimate at 3.5 syns). And a very small slice of lemon drizzle cake (11.5 syns anybody!) 😖😖😖. That was my weekly cake treat!
Later on I had an apple, satsumas, grapes, jacket potato, baked beans, quorn ham type slices, large mixed salad (all free), and 6 Laughing Cow light cheese triangles (HEA2).
Today I've had two poached eggs, Oatly (HEA1), two slices wholemeal bread (HEB and 6 syns), marmite for the toast and 1 tbsp reduced sugar/salt ketchup (half syn).  Plus a large salad of rocket, spinach, grated carrot, tomatoes, and pepper with 1 tbsp reduced fat Caesar dressing (2.5 syns).
Tonight I'm having the SW free Quorn spaghetti bolognese sauce with wholewheat pasta and broccoli on the side followed by fresh fruit.

P.S I did ask my SW group leader about the negligible difference in fat and calories between Danish Blue cheese and Dolcelatte  - seeing that the first is a HEA2 and the latter is synful. She said that the Danish Blue has a higher calcium content than other blue cheeses and that's why SW pushes the Danish as a HEA2!
