Thanks for all the comments re SCs.
I've got an air fryer and it's absolutely huge and takes up so much worktop space but fortunately I have an extra worktop which covers the white goods in the kitchen extension so a lot of my big gadgets just sit on there. There's a bean to cup coffee machine which gets used daily; the air fryer which DH uses a couple of times a week when he cooks our sausages for fry ups at the weekend; a Remoska which gets quite a bit of use as it's far cheaper to use than the oven even if things do take a little bit longer to cook as it cooks at about 190 but can only use this if I'm using a smallish dish - no good to do a full roast for example, although probably would be if it was just potatoes and a couple of chicken breasts but that's not enough for me - have to have loads of roast veg too!
Have also got a vacuum sealer and a small coffee bean grinder which only gets used from time to time to grind coffee for when we go away in the motorhome (neither of us likes instant coffee), my DD on the other hand doesn't really like real coffee but puts up with it when she covers over as I refuse to buy instant just for her.
Think you can all see why my SC lives in a cupboard in another room!!! I'll see how often I end up using the big casserole dishes to decide whether or not to replace the SC but can't see it happening any time soon!
@Jellybaby - we all had things which needed to be used up when we first started SW and it wouldn't be very MSE not to use it! You'll still be well within syns even with 7.5 syns for the fish goujons.
Have just had to rejig my menu plan for the rest of the month with DH springing it on me about going away for the weekend. Some things are just too awkward to do in the motorhome, eg toast - you can only do 1 slice at a time so not much good to do things like scrambled eggs on toast where we want 2 slices each!!!
Well that turned into a bit of an essay, sorry!

You’ve just reminded me that I got rid of my little kettle and toaster we used in the caravan when we got rid of it. Might need to replace them if our motor home is ever ready for us to collect.
I quite enjoyed SW this morning. She did a bit of a quiz about syns and articles in the new magazine……not a bad way to entice folk to buy it although she did lend them out to anyone who hadn’t bought one( I’d already bought mine). There were only 8 people there again…..much different to my previous group. What I didn’t enjoy was seeing I’d put
2 1/2lb on…… I’d been to a party, a night at the theatre which included ciders and had the family here for nearly a week and taken sandwiches on picnics which I never usually do…..and I ate so much chocolate yesterday which I’d brought in for the gks…..they said they’d gone off chocolate 😳😳 just shows……..dd doesn’t give them sweet treats and it’s paid off neither has a sweet tooth 😏 At least I didn’t put everything I’d lost back on - still lost 1lb since I re joined. 😵💫January spends - £587.580 -
We've never bothered with a toaster milann as we're rarely on electric as we tend to rally in this country and use Aires in France. We do have a small electric kettle for when we are on EHU but probably use the one on the gas hob far more often. Definitely not heard of kids who have gone off chocolate! My DD1 wasn't allowed chocolate when she was little as we found out she had an allergy to it (not heard of that before either!) so that meant DD2 wasn't allowed it either. It wasn't until she was about 7 when someone gave her chocolate not know about the allergy (and of course she didn't tell them!) and found out that she had actually outgrown it. Couldn't stop her after that!
Looking forward to getting away for a few nights at the weekend. I've just had a phone call to book me for a specialist ultrasound next Thursday; only trouble is it's an hour's drive away so I had to make sure it wasn't a day when DH wouldn't be around as my shoulder is far too sore to drive for more than about 20 minutes or so (not that I like driving more than that anyway!). I'm really pleased that the appointment has come through so quickly as didn't really expect to hear anything for at least a couple of weeks.
Never mind about the gain milann it'll come off just a quickly as it went on.

At least you know where the 2.5lbs has come from @milann. In your position, I'd write a meal plan for the coming week, using up whatever I had in and a shopping list for any other essentials. i always feel better when I'm in control.
I think making NAS syrup 0.5 syns is a new thing @Jellybaby, a bit like synning sweetener. Thanks for posting it because I'd always assumed it was still free.
I must have fewer gadgets than anyone. Unless you include a toaster and kettle I think my slow cooker is all I have. It fits in a kitchen cupboard. I used to have a steamer which was a gift but although it cooked excellent vegetables it was such a faff to us that I binned it. I do have a steamer I can use over a saucepan so I'll make a mental note to use that. I've got a pressure cooker too but it's still in its box as I'm afraid of it.
I've only just eaten my lunch as I was just about to dish up when a friend rang for a long chat! Fortunately I wasn't too hungry. I had a lot of Speed for my lunch as not having too much the rest of the day.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), fried eggs, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- 2 new potatoes (F), ham (P), fried veg and beetroot (S)
D- sausages, chips, baked beans (F), fried onions, mushrooms (S)
Syns- Aldi sausages 10 -

Forgot about the pressure cooker in one of the kitchen drawers, well actually it's 3 different sized ones but only one pressure lid plus a glass lid. I use the smallest one a lot but as a sautée pan rather than as a pressure cooker although I do take that one away with us in the motorhome when we go for a month with both lids so I can use either way. Also got a Pressure King Pro in the wardrobe in the spare bedroom but have only ever used it a couple of times!
The only things I keep on the side in the actual kitchen is the microwave and my Kenwood. The attachments for the Kenwood (food processor & liquidiser) are kept in a cupboard in the kitchen extension!
Writing all that down makes me realise just how much stuff I've got but most of it gets used fairly regularly apart from the Pressure King Pro. Think I really might as well sell that one, although more likely end up giving it away to one of the DDs!0 -
