Well done to everyone losing and hope radiotherapy goes well for you're dad Klew.
I've had toast and jam for breakfast, ham and mushroom omelette and pickles for lunch. Probably pasta with a tomato sauce and parmesan for dinner. Only jam syns so far and no more planned.
Have a good day all.

@maman Will be taking at least a couple of frozen HM ready meals for the first couple of nights but like you I love shopping in the French supermarkets. It's swings and roundabouts with the prices! Meat tends to be more expensive but fruit and veg is similar or cheaper. There's definitely a lot more choice too particularly with cold meats, pate and cheeses (definitely another downfall in France, along with the bread!). There's usually a choice of about 8 or more different hams and they are definitely cheaper than here. I very rarely bother buying ham now - much prefer to cook a gammon and then get DH to slice it on the electric slicer which also means we can vary the thickness.
Had to post before finishing my post as the garage phoned for us to go and collect the car!
I'll definitely try and post from time to time when we get some wifi. We'll be taking our router with us but as it's with 3 the signal isn't always the best! It's not brilliant here at home and it's definitely hit and miss while we're away in France!

Sorry to hear about your dad @klew356. Do try to keep yourself strong and healthy. I hope his treatment goes well. 🤗
Good menu today @Jellybaby. 👍
I'm sure you know you can't take any meat or milk products into France @joedenise but veggie ready meals should be fine. ☺️2 -

That's what I asked a few days ago when an online member (sorry can't remember who) mentioned it. When there's a new book there's always a 'tweak' of some sort!
Whoever gets hold of the book first please post what if anything is changing as I won't be around when it comes out. Looks like I might not get it at all as it runs out on 15 January and I won't be back at group by then so maybe it's not going to be anything changing drastically so that the book isn't necessary!
@maman - yes I know about the no meat or dairy but I shall certainly be taking my open milk from the fridge at home so that we can have a cuppa before we get on the train! If we get searched and it gets taken so be it I'll just have to buy more once we get to France!

I'm thinking that maybe I'll aim for the 15th January for my next WI. Although, on reflection, I might have to go before then. I must check when my 8 weeks is up.
ETA. That's 7 weeks, so something to aim for. 🤔
Good menu @bubbs. Wot no free food in your dinner?? 🤣 I was surprised that your consultant lumped protein in with free food.1 -
Oh sorry Denise i must have missed what you said or it didn't register 🤣
Maman no free food , when i was SAS longs she was telling me to have more and protein 🙄 Claire this lady at group rolled her eyes when i was telling her, she said you literally have meat and veg 🤣Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0 -
I've booked holiday for NYE which would be my 8 weeks. I was then planning on going again sometime in February. As I'm not back from France until 8 January I can't see me having got back into target before 15 January!
I always thought that Free food was anything which isn't Speed or Protein so that really doesn't make sense! I think they make it up as they go along!

Have had a sort through the freezer and found a veggie savoury mince; a pack of spiced veg for a biryani. I'm soaking dried mixed beans overnight to make mixed bean goulash for dinner tomorrow night so will freeze a couple of portions of that and that will do for the main meals for the start of the holiday. I think I'll leave the spiced veg in the fridge to defrost Wednesday night and we'll have a biryani for dinner Thursday night.
First stop in France will have to be a supermarket to pick up the basics like bread, butter, cheeses, pate & ham; some salad stuff. Will take potatoes and onions which we have which will probably be enough for the first 4 or 5 days.
Right that's the start of a menu plan forming for the first few days of the holiday. Breakfasts will usually be croissants or similar; lunches will be French bread, pate, ham, cheese etc & salads. So definitely quite a few syns but I'm sure it'll all work out in the end!
