Decided to get some of my pre Christmas bits out yesterday including the first of the Christmas tea towels. The sprout one! 😁1

Well done on your 1.5 stone shiny @evilsquid1603. You're doing ever so well to cope with the working hours and the plan. perhaps with such huge prices for online membership, you're determined to stick with it. 🤣 I know what you mean about just a number of meals but even they don't have to be completely off plan. There's nothing more SW friendly than things like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or cold meat, bubble & squeak and pickles.
I think water retention is far worse after flying @joedenise than your ferry journeys. Good to see some of that disappear overnight.
Well done on all the NSVs @MrsRyan. It's such a confidence boost and hopefully motivational too. Getting a plan together for the week ahead will help. 🤞🏼 for some good news at WI.
I didn't manage to post yesterday as was dashing around like the proverbial fly with the blue bits! 🤣 Overall I think I did OK. I had a bite of Crunchie and shared a buffet supper. I did have some quiche and various chutneys and dressings but no alcohol as I was driving so probably fewer syns overall than an average Saturday.
I took smoked salmon and potato salad as my contribution. I have some potato salad left so will have extra syns to use it up.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, baked beans (F), fried eggs, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- ham (P), pickles, tomato (S), potato salad
D- roast chicken (P), SW roast potatoes, LM stuffing (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns- gravy 4, mayo?, weekend wine😁1 -
I think you're right @maman about the water retention being worse after flying. I never seem to put on loads when we go to France for a month - think the worse was about 4lb! Think that took me nearly a month to get off as well.
DH and I have just received confirmation that our PCR tests are negative - thankfully! Would have needed to cancel France if either of us had been positive. Have also had to book LFT for Wednesday in order to go to France on Thursday as France have now decided we need a negative result within 48 hours prior to travel! I think if we'd only been going for a week or 2 we would have cancelled, wouldn't be worth it with the costs of all these tests.
Looks like lots of us are having chicken for dinner today. I'm doing one in the SC but DH also popped to the butchers to get another one as the one in the SC is too small for 5 people and my DD1, her partner and his friend all decided to invite themselves to dinner! I'm spit roasting the butcher's chicken in the air fryer. Will do loads of roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips & onions in the oven.
Not got much in the way of veg in the freezer so DH and I will be having Brussels (none of the others eat them!). The only other veg I've got is peas so going to open a tin of sweetcorn as well so their plates don't look too empty! Decided I'm going to make some yorkies as well so that will be another couple of syns for me but will still only be 5.5 syns for the day which I'm OK with.
Right I'm off to go and peel a load of potatoes ready for cooking this evening!
PS. While I was feeling the potatoes it suddenly dawned on me that I'm cooking dinner for 2 professional chefs! No pressure then, LOL!

I thought we'd have chicken today to leave a gap before poultry for Christmas.
I realised I'd forgotten to do the swede and carrot mash this week so I've got a big pot bubbling away. That's some for today and some for the freezer.
Great news about the PCR tests. It sounds like you were safer in the Canaries than here. 42 000 positive cases yesterday IIRC. ☹️0 -
Hi
I feel like I'm definitely creeping back in with my tail between my legs...
I was just going to lurk about with the vain hope there'd be a New Year thread that I could join unnoticed, but actually I just need to bite the bullet.
I've no idea if any of you even remember me!!
I'm not going to a class, but I do have books from 2 years ago...are they still the same?
I've got stuff in the freezer that I'll need to syn as I eat...do you mind if I ask what syns are?
Other than that, most of my batch cooked stuff is slimming world friendly - old habits die hard.
Please can I come back??0 -
Evening all
Denise, glad your results were negative 👏
See Maman you don't hate brussels that much 🤣🤣
Welcome back Frankie, if the books are 2 hexa and 1 b they are the up to date ones and no don't mind you asking about syns but there is also a big section at the back of the book.
Mrs R well done on more NSV

Good to see you posting again @FrankieM. 😁
I'm sure you're right to make a start now rather than putting it off. But thanks for the heads up on a new thread for the new year.
Fortunately you've kept to good habits on healthy batch cooking but for anyone lurking, now is a good time to feed anything that's not SW friendly to friends and family. It's a mse thread so wasting food is not an option.
Do ask for any syn values or anything else you need to know. I can't remember when it happened but the biggest change in recent years was moving to 2 X HEAs each day. More cheese. 😋1 -
Here's pudding Frankie 😋
