    Evening everyone

Crikey you lot can talk
I’ve been away for a few days. Thursday night was my bestie’s birthday, and she was at a conference in Birmingham. I went over to join her as I’m not far away. We ordered in a Gourmet Burger Kitchen takeaway so I was a bit naughty. Very nice though! I had a hotel breakfast in the morning but I just counted a few Syns for oil. The melon I had for starters was fresh and so was free. I had eggs, bacon, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms.

I then went up to Sunderland to see the Rocky Horror show with my sister. Friday, the day I travelled up, food wise I actually did okay. I had an M&S salad for lunch, with an added protein pot (spinach and egg) and some fruit and yoghurt. I went out to the bingo that night and had a jacket spud with beans and a small amount of cheese. For supper I had some Fridge Raiders and some fruit.

Saturday did not start well! I was in a Travelodge and there were absolutely no shops in the vicinity. So the night before I had gone to the local Asda and bought one of those porridge pots (I should add I’m trying to have carbs with every meal. I’ve been finding if I don’t have carbs or don’t have enough I’m getting raging hypos) 8 Syns! Blimey. I did have some fresh blueberries with it though. When my sister arrived we went for lunch at Subway. I was full of good intentions to have a salad but again- the need for carbs won 🙈the result was a 6 inch BMT on Hearty Italian 🙈I really enjoyed it though. My sister was trying to talk to me and all she could hear was appreciative noises 😂

When we came out of the theatre we couldn’t get in anywhere to eat so ended up at McDonalds where I dispatched a crispy chicken wrap and large fries. We then went to a few bars but that wasn’t really a problem as I don’t drink so stuck to water. When we got back to the hotel I had two alcohol free Gins with diet fizzy orange and several handfuls of my sisters crisps. Then the next morning a full Wetherspoons breakfast 🙈

The worst thing about all that junk food? It didn’t actually affect my blood sugars as I thought it might. And I’ve only put 2lbs on but I’m working hard to rein it in. I’m away all day Saturday then the following weekend I’m away from Saturday to Tuesday as it’s my birthday weekend. I’m just hoping that knowing I can stuff my face with junk and not affect my blood sugar means that I won’t just throw caution to the wind.

i am really trying to make decent choices though where I can. Haven’t been to group in a couple of weeks as my friend who I rely on for transport is away in Ireland. My consultant put something on FB that really annoyed me though- she said if you don’t come to group you’re not committed and you won’t succeed!
I put a rather barbed comment saying ‘still no transport.. still cannot come if no transport… not a lot I can do about it’

    Today’s food
B: HEXB scrambled eggs on toast (4 Syns for spread) Decaf coffee with HEXA milk and used milk in scrambled eggs
L: Slimming World beef noodle ready meal, mixed veg
T: Chicken, baby new potatoes, mixed veg. 3 Syns for Peri Peri sauce. Dark chocolate (4.5)
    S: Crisps (6.5)
    Syns: 18

    Night all xx

Morning all.  Glad you had a good time @Mrs_Ryan; a 2lb gain isn't too bad with all that junk food.  It's a case of Good when you can; Careful when you can't!

We all get hungry days @klew356!  I usually resort to Green days when I have one of those if I can, which seems to work for me!

Not planning on doing much today.  DH has gone off to golf this morning so have a few hours to myself so I'm going to catch up with Strictly shortly which was recorded on Saturday!

    Today's plan:

    B - bacon & mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 3
    L - chicken salad - P; S; F
    D - jerk chicken, rice 'n' peas - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - butter 3

    Have a good day everyone.
