Morning all.  Some of those crackers look nice and not a bad price.  Unfortunately I don't get to M&S very often.

Weather not looking brilliant but I'm going to do a machine load anyway and hope the rain holds off!  If not it'll have to get most of it on the airer but will put the towels and tea towels in the dryer.

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with bacon - P; S; F
L - low fat cheese burger & onions in wholemeal roll - HEB; S; 3
    D - lamb shank; roast potatoes, roasted carrots, peppers & onions, green beans & peas - S; F; 2

    HEA - milk
    HEB - wholemeal roll
Syns - burger 0.5; cheese slice 2.5; lamb shank 2; may have a couple of rum & ginger beer tonight as well for 5

    Have a good day everyone.

I'll definitely get some of the crackers @bubbs. I don't often have them but do sometimes feel peckish when I've had an early dinner.

    Back soon. 😊

    Afternoon all

Lovely here Denise but they do say it' going to change thi week, so i have had a productive morning, scotch eggs, cooked 2 bunches beetroot, made a vat of speedy veg soup, just needs whizzing, veg all prepped for roast. DH is at work again! No idea at the moment what time he is finishing.

I thought they were a good price that's why i scanned them 😂 be handy for Christmas too

Yes, I thought about Christmas when I saw them too @bubbs. I always treat myself to extra cheese and it'll be good to know the crackers are low syn. Well done on your productive cooking session, good to be organised for the week. 😊

Yesterday was probably similar to a normal Saturday for syns. I only had coleslaw and a drizzle of cream when I was out but did have wine when I got home. I've got loads of salad stuff left so it will feature heavily this week.

Football today was dire but I only had a tiny bite of DH's Crunchie so all good on the SW front.

Was that the Iceland lamb shank @joedenise. Which one is it? I really want to try one.

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit squash, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, fruits (S)
    L- cold beef (P).salad (S)
D- roast chicken (P), SW roast potatoes, LM stuffing balls (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns - Crunchie bite, LTL mayo, gravy, weekend wine.
  • Ooh, those crackers look fab, must nip in to get some. Meals going to be hit & miss this week as going to empty the freezer, decided I am only going to buy essentials this week as I couldn’t be bothered going to Sainsbury’s this morning as I did not want to deal with the idiots at their petrol station, so I walked in the other direction to Lidl, idiots queuing for juice across the road from there also. I feel really sorry for those being forced to queue when they genuinely need fuel because of the selfishness of others. I don’t even want to think about how the guys at work will get on, let’s face it, it is not as if it would be easy to use public transport if they need to carry tiles etc, joys of working for a construction company, just hope we don’t have issues with deliveries from suppliers.

Dinner was a bit odd😂 cooked some mince with peppers, onions and fajita mix, with green beans, pickled onions & artichokes. At least I got some speed in😂
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Yes it was the Iceland lamb shank.  It was the 350g pack of 2 lamb shanks which you boil in the bag from frozen for 45 minutes or you can microwave for 7 minutes but I don't think they're as good microwaved.  They were definitely smaller than last time we had them!  The ones with the mint gravy are 3 syns rather than 2 syns.  There is far too much gravy for me so although I synned mine as 2 it wasn't really as I only had a very small amount of gravy which clung to it.  There is about 150ml left over which I'll freeze for DH to have another time!

The biggest problem though is that there are no leftovers for extra meals like you get with a chicken, so also works out a quite expensive meal @ £3 each which is why we don't have them very often!

I've decided to only have one rum & ginger beer as I forgot we got some strawberries and cream which needs using up so we've had them for pudding, very nice they were too!  I had 60ml which works out at 6 syns so by only having the one rum I'm within syns for the day!

Have got some chickpeas soaking overnight which I'll cook in the morning and then make into a chana masala for dinner tomorrow night.  Looking forward to that as not had a curry for a little while.  Also have jerk chicken this week so looks like it might be quite a spicy week!

Well done on only having a bite of Crunchie at the football @maman!

It's crazy round here too @Gettingtherequickly. When I passed Tesco had run out of fuel. There's so much more traffic around, you'd think people would try to save what they have. 🤔

It's always good to try and eat from the freezer but I should try to practise what I preach. Mine are jam packed.🤣

I've done some mash while preparing dinner so I can freeze some bubble and squeak as I have to get through the salad first.

Morning all, what a change in the weather this morning!  It's blowing a hoodie and plenty of rain but it's threatening to brighten up but we'll see!  Glad I got the washing out of the way!

Doing a bit of cooking this morning.  Currently have falafel mix in the fridge firming up so will cook those this afternoon; going to try them in the air fryer and hope they don't break up!

I've also frozen some for another small batch.  Once I've weighed some more out for making chana masala for dinner tonight I'll be freezing the rest of the ones I've cooked for using another day.

    Today's plan:

    B - baked oats; raspberries, banana, yoghurt - HEB; S; F
    L - lentil and tomato soup - P; S; F
    D - chana masala/rice - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - oats
Syns - none planned but may have some crackers & Primula Light later which would be HEA2 & 3 syns

    Have a good day everyone.
