I weighed at home this morning and was quite pleased with a 2lb gain as I thought it would have been more. I’ve had a really ‘down’ week and just been snacking rubbish as I’ve been adjusting to the idea of finishing work. I know I will sort myself out and get back on plan as I can’t carry on like this.
Yesterday I went for a joint Christmas 19 and my birthday meal. I’d bought Christmas vouchers for ds and dh at a Tom Kerridge restaurant that had just opened……I’d not expected to sit on them for best part of 2 years 😳😳 Between ds having an accident, lockdowns and me being in hospital we have had to cancel 3 times……but 4th time lucky. It was very special- I had a salmon dish with pickled cucumber and a crispy cracker like thing which tasted like crackling, followed by roast beef and all the trimmings and a panacotta with pineapple and a coconut ice cream. I’m not a big drinker but had a couple of cocktails😵‍💫😁. There was a 3 piece group playing in the background and everything was very relaxed. I’m not fully convinced it warranted the price charged - but a lovely 1 off. I’m going to Zizzi to use some Tesco vouchers on Tuesday for my birthday 😂 back to reality 😂 and then to dds for 4 days to celebrate my dds 40th. In between meals out I’ll try hard to stay on track and once home on Saturday. Where I’ll try some sun free days. It’s a plan of sorts 👍👍

  • morning all!

weighed in yesterday and gained 1.5 but star weeks due any day now and we’d been out the night before for my nephews birthday so not unexpected. as i’m using the gym scales with all the fancy body composition stuff, that’s shown ive actually still lost fat this week and gained muscle and water so happy that the fats at last carried on in the right direction even if it’s masked a bit by muscle and water weight gain. normally in group that night would have been a “i’m dealing with a gain anyway so may as well go mad tonight” evening but seeing the composition changes has actually helped me keep my head on straight that it’s working and my current mass measurement in and of itself actually isn’t the only measurement of my progress. also had a 2 point jump in the score by how much my body can use the energy made available to it so having that as a NSV!

have ordered the christmas planner from the SW shop as well, hoping it’ll give me a boost in the run up to xmas and keep me motivated once the membership ends next month and ive not got access to the app planner anymore.

That's exactly the right attitude @evilsquid1603 and @milann. SW has to fit around life not the other way round . There will always be family celebrations or whatever. What matters is that we don't self sabotage but get back on plan ASAP.

It's cleared up here @joedenise so we're back to bright sunshine.😁

As I had HM coleslaw the other night, it's hard to be exact with the syn  bank but I think I'm doing OK. I'll be in control of meals until Thursday when we're meeting friends for lunch at a new (to us) pub.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), HEB toast, HEA milk, scrambled eggs (P)
    L- cold meat (P), mixed salad (S)
    D- lasagne (P,S,F, HEA2) with more mixed salad! 🤣
    Syns- mayo 0.5, cornflour 1

Morning all, AWOL the last month due to DS sharing his Covid germs with me!  Living in the same house it was inevitable and entirely unpleasant but hopefully coming out the other side and back to reality (work ) with a bang this morning.  Lost taste and smell for a fortnight but thankfully that's back now but not been on SW at all!  Having lived on dry toast and jam drinking water for the last few weeks I'm really enjoying some tasty, spicy treats!

I've tried to read along but lost a few pages here and there so will need to catch up but the conversations on 'filling your boots' and eating whole chickens and hundreds of yoghurts all because they are free really struck with me too.  I think I've already said, I'm another who has a consultant who encourages you to stuff yourself with as much free food as you want and anyone mentioning portion control is shot down in flames.

I weighed this morning and I'm two pounds lower than last time in class which I'm really chuffed with and think I have about a stone to go to target.  I'm undecided whether to go back to class - for a number of reasons - but will decide in the next couple of weeks.  I'd need to rejoin as I've already been deleted from FB group page and can't access the app!

Having lentil soup for lunch and a mexican beef and bean concoction with rice for dinner courtesy of DS

    Good afternoon all,

I have just eaten a pot noodle, 2 cold sausages and a packet of hula hoop puffs whoops!

I had a great night on Friday, paid for it on Saturday, didn’t eat much at all except a bacon roll – grilled. I also had body magic in the form of working a bar for a friend, the things I agree to when under the influence.

B fruit and fibre ss milk

    L as above oops

    D chicken and broccoli bake

Weather cleared up here too @maman; it's lovely and sunny now but still very windy so still good for drying washing if needed!

Like @maman says life has to fit around SW and not the other way round which is why the syn bank works for so many of us.  Sounds like this week should be OK for you @maman if you're not going out until lunchtime on Thursday; so a good chance you'd get a loss this week if you were going to group!

The soup I'd planned on having was horrible so it ended up down the sink!  So have had a couple of crackers & Primula Light for lunch.  Looking forward to curry & rice for dinner tonight; think I might also have a dig around the freezer and see if I can find a mini naan in there - I think there's a couple left in there.

@bubbs - can you not use the full 60g as HEA1 & 2?  Think I'm right in thinking you don't use much milk in hot drinks so better to syn that milk.

Are you having a bun with your cheeseburger?  If not then why not have the baked apple as your HEB - it's what I would do - baked apple with 1tsp of mincemeat is HEB so just need to syn the extra tsp of mincemeat.  If you are having a bun with your cheeseburger then you would definitely need to syn the baked apple & mincemeat for a total of 7 syns.

    Hope that all makes sense!

The soup was just horrible - think it was a bit too tomatoey and just didn't taste nice.  DH said exactly the same.  It tasted OK when I made it so it must be something to do with freezing it.  Certainly won't bother with making it again.

Have made a few falafels and cooked them in the air fryer instead of the oven and they are much nicer than usual, particularly when warm.  Will have to wait a while to see whether they are better cold as well.  If they are then that's the way I'll cook them in future, although won't be able to cook many at time but they seem to cook quicker than in the oven.

@joedenise beat me to it @bubbs but every extra 5g of cheese is 1 syn if that helps.

Sorry to hear you've had covid @Jellybaby but getting a loss is good. Seems unfair to make you rejoin when you've been ill. I'd ask the consultant about that. 🤔
