    Evening all
Glad to see others agree re calories!
Today has been a rare day in that I’ve done bog all 😆

Ive been run off my feet for about the last three weeks so it’s been nice to just chill.
Away again Thursday to Sunday; away for the day the following Saturday then three days away the weekend after. Got a weekend off then away again the following weekend.

I was feeling all smug thinking I’ve got November off to recover then I remembered I’m going to the Steps gig with my sister :D:smiley: I’ve done more in the few months since lockdown lifted than I have in the last couple of years I think! I’ve been spending an awful lot of time (and all my wages 😂) in London and although I enjoy my time there (long story 😉) it’s nice to have some down time.

    Today’s food:
B: HEXB toast, tinned tomatoes, scrambled egg with HEXA milk. 2 Syns for a very tiny amount of spread
    L: Tin of soup (4.5) 2 yoghurts (2)
T: Salmon skewers (2) butternut squash chips, mixed veg. 2 Syns for ketchup. Dark chocolate (4.5)
    S: Blueberries and yoghurt
    Syns: 17

    Night all xx

  • Hi everyone! Hope you are all ok.

I’ve been on a hen weekend so just tried as much as I could to make healthier choices and wrote off the rest! Thankfully as there was a gluten free vegan in attendance the chef dumped all the vegetarians in with her meals rather than do separate ones which meant my tea on Saturday was vegan tomato soup so I know there wasn’t any cream added and dinner was literally half a butternut squash shoved in the oven with no flavour added on whatsoever 6 green beans, 3 1/2 cherry tomatoes and ¼ of an onion, I was like where’s the rest of it 😭

one of the girls we’d not seen since the start of the pandemic mentioned straightaway were we doing some sort of regime or something similar as we both just looked really healthy and glowing so we were very happy with that NSV! 😁

back on plan now though, I feel heavy and bloated and heavy in myself and want to get back to eating properly again, might do a couple of SP days.

I’d noticed the calorie references online too, there’s a feature on there debunking the popular other diets out there and calorie countings now been added. Cynically, I thought it’s because pinch of nom has done so well and as SW came down heavily on them and not allowing use of any trademarks or references to their plan in the recipes anymore (which I’ve never understood as they could have made so much bringing them on board properly as a public face!) they’ve had to say SW is “calorie counting” which now seems to just be everywhere and they need to position themselves as “but we do calorie count too, we just do the hard work for you!” to combat it.

    I agree re calories evilsquid
in the ‘old days ‘ when a certain yogurt was free there were people in my group eating 6/7 a day !
    a I couldn’t afford to do that
b although they were fat free they were v sugary
and c it really wasn’t ‘healthy eating ‘
Begin to think the old fashioned’All things in moderation’ isn’t a bad mantra !

@Suffolksue - people eating loads of Syn Free yoghurts was probably the reason they started saying they were syns to try and discourage people from doing that!  I very rarely eat flavoured yoghurt, in fact now I don't eat them at all.  the only yoghurt I eat is natural Greek or Greek style yoghurt.  As you say they are also quite expensive - I pay just over £1 for Kg of natural yoghurt.

@evilsquid1603 - glad you had a good weekend and well done on making healthy choices when you could.  Damage limitation for the rest of the week.  You've probably noticed that several of us use a weekly syn bank rather than a daily one, me included most weeks!

We decided last night to go away for a couple of days this week so I've just had to rejig my menu plan as everything I'd got planned for the next few days involve using an oven and the oven in the motorhome just isn't up to the job so doesn't get used!  If we've got electric hook up (EHU) I sometimes use a Remoska but we won't have EHU this time so it needs to be stuff I can reheat or cook on the hob.

I've also had to rejig today's menu plan as when I wrote it DH wasn't going to be playing golf today but now he is so I've had to move things around a bit!

    Today's plan:

B - cheese on toast - HEA2; HEB; P; F (this was originally going to be lunch)
L - chicken salad, few SW chips - P; S; F (this originally wasn't going to be dinner but with potatoes and veg rather than salad)
    D - kedgeree - P; S; F (this originally was going to be breakfast)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - none planned

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Morning all.  Reporting a half pound gain this morning but I know its down to a number of factors - one of them being that star week is due this week so I'm bloating like no ones business 😆  Felt a bit blah recently and DH convinced me to go for a run on Saturday morning - ended up with a PB for 5K 😲  Went for another run this morning and managed about 3k before my lungs felt they were going to give out.  Have a stretching routine planned for this evening so hopefully I won't feel sore tomorrow.

Had a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast this morning and then lunch is going to be another cheats sushi bowl using cottage cheese instead of rice (it went down very well last week 😋).  Dinner is going to be HM pizzas as DH want's them and we had some dough leftover in the freezer - we're on a "use everything up" week as we're going away next week and thought that we could use up a few things as pizza toppings.

Right back to work, hope everyone is having a good day.

I remember being in the staff room years ago at school when a lady following red and green days guzzled 2 cans of corned beef and nothing else….I can still see it…..that was in my slim days - how can that be healthy……I think SW with everything in moderation is the way to go……I know that but it doesn’t make it any easier to stick to 😂🤔😂. I’ve had another rubbish week - emotions all over the place. It was interesting listening to Dr Xand on tv this morning talking about super processed food and the additives being addictive…..apparently he has done some blogs which I might check out….
