WinterWarrior - the car situation hit me tonight, at the time I was so grateful we managed to stop it, I just keep worrying about what might have happened, irrational I know, it was on a flat car park though so it must have a slight wonk to it.
I'm thinking of allowing myself say £10 a week emergency grocery money for the next few weeks, but use the hub for f&v and bread. I still have to buy milk and things that may be needed. I still haven't added it up so I'll do that tomorrow and see what the damage is, shouldn't take me long I only went in three shops and the receipts are in my purse!

New totals in signature, not as bad as I thought and I was able to put more in the canopy fund, as the payment for the g&e has come out of this four weeks not the last, I always forget that I get paid 13 times a year not 12, so there is a pay period where each dd isn't paid!! So that's one positive for today£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1

Your grocery budget works out at £78 per month, so you are still under budget for 5months in and now you have a stock pile. That really is fantastic. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

WinterWarrior - you're up early today!!!
I hadn't looked at it like that. I just saw the amount I'd spent this week and had a wobble!! I'll still have to buy cheese, yogurt, milk, chocolate etc but hopefully not the basics for a good while. I think it helps that I don't eat meat or much processed veggie stuff.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1 -
Up and at it today, cleaned upstairs and down, well not a deep clean but dust and bunny fluff has now been hovered up/wiped away and the marks on my front room carpet have now disappeared after the dgc bought a load of mud in - bless him!!!
Plans for today, watch my daily dose of baby goats and lambs with a cup of coffee, then start looking for things to take to the cs for 20 mins and plant a few more seeds up and later this afternoon I'm going to my drs for my yearly check up, a few years late but again something I'm grateful for.
I'm having LOs for lunch and I hope I've finished it then (not too keen, but can't waste food) and for tea a pasta dish courtesy of jm that I've made lots of times, simple and filling.
Have a good day everyone

joedenise - hope you do get some sun, it makes me feel, as if 'all is well in the world', although at home I don't sit out in it much, but whilst I'm away ....

Looking at my previous post I didn't get get any seeds sown and my excuse is that it has been raining most of the afternoon and everything is in the shed down the bottom of the garden!!
, I did get a couple of bits put in the charity bag though. My check up at the doctors went fine but I have to lose some of this extra flab that's appeared since I was last there and I'm going back once a month to be weighed and receive a pep talk
That's it really, I finished some biscuits off tonight to get them out of the way, could have thrown them but they were chocolate digestive!!!! Oh I was looking to see if I could get a new g&e deal but I can't remember how much or the % of the increase in October so I would be grateful if anybody knows if they could let me know, my car tax has stayed the same and my house and contents is due so I must pay or try for a better deal for them, so that's my Sunday job as I hope to be out tomorrow if it's not raining!!!

Managed to get a visit into the lottie, it's been so warm here and I didn't take a drink with me - silly person!!
Anyway managed to weed the strawberries so you can actually see them again!! And then I prepared some containers ready for the butternuts, cleared a bit more and dug over a bit more of the sweetcorn bed and managed to fill three large empty compost bags with weeds etc. So felt good but it doesn't really look as if I've done much. The weather forecast here is for rain the next few days, well that means the weeds will be sprouting up all over the place!!! It's a constant battle but keeps me busy and I love it really.
When I got in I downed two glasses of water followed by a very large mug of coffee and had a sit out in the sun. I'm hoping to get back there again tomorrow to take the rubbish to the tip and I'll probably do a bit more digging, little and often!! If it's not raining of course.
Dgd is visiting tomorrow, and if she comes with me (one of her days off college) we can start sorting through the rotten wood pile and take that to the tip as well. Mind you she has a p/t job now, that may lead to something after she finishes college and she worked a 7-2 shift there today so she may be a tad tired so we'll see.
So it's been a sfd today, I could do with a spend free fortnight truth be told but I'll have to see, I do have loads in after doing a big stock up though.
Anyway a good day had in some lovely warm sunshine. Take care all.
