Poor not my cat. He’ll be so confused 🫤 He loves you nanny, let him in! 😬

WinterWarrior - the cat still visits every day and waits for me to come back in when I go out, and I've just given him a treat outside as he's been here tonight, it's just that I don't want him overnight, if it was very late and it was raining or snowing or the forecast says it's going to be very cold, then of course I'd let him in - I couldn't live with myself if I didn't  :)
(His people are in bed early as they go to work early).

Today I went down to the food hub and snaffled some veggies and some bread so that was good, I haven't been since before Easter as I thought the families with children at home would probably need it more than me, but they were saying how quiet it had been during the holidays, they hadn't been gifted great amounts either for today so I only took what I needed.

I then went to the lottie this afternoon, the weather was glorious and I spent all afternoon down there, tidying, weeding, planting a few things and talking to fellow plot owners. A very good few hours spent, mind you I'm worn out now and as I'm on grandma duties tomorrow I'll be going to bed with my book very soon!

Eldest dgd is staying the night and coming with me tomorrow so she will help out a bit, her day off from college tomorrow. We are going on a polytunnel cover hunt at a very large garden centre where I bought the actual polytunnel from, if I can't get one dd is going to order one I've seen from the big river place, and as she's on prime I will get it quickly!!

So a productive day, I did fall over at the plot and hurt my ankle but it's more or less OK now and I think I over did it a bit as I had a dizzy turn and felt sick when I got back, but it was my own fault as I didn't have lunch or take a drink with me as I hadn't planned on staying that long and after a drink and a quick cracker and cheese and sit down I was back to normal.

Made a jm peach & chickpea curry for tea whilst dgd had fish and chips from the freezer. Sandwiches made for lunch tomorrow and I'll be finishing off the curry for tomorrows tea so that's all sorted, dgd will be delivered back home on the way back from dd2.

That was my day, oh and the £150 council tax thingy has hit my bank today, so I've moved that into my annual bill pot because I wasn't sure what to do with it.

Anyway going upstairs to Bedfordshire as my Nanny used to say, I can hear that dgd is out of the bathroom, poor girl has to catch her bus to college at 6.45!!!! So gets tired, mind you she's probably on her ipad :D

It’s so easy to get shaky or dizzy without food and drink, so a very good idea to have emergency supplies in your bag. I like to be within a 5 second radius of some chocolate 😬 I’m glad you are ok now x
My mum always said up the stairs to Bedfordshire…and good night, sleep tight, mind the bed bugs don’t bite 🤣

WinterWarrior - I used to say both to my kids when little, but can only remember being told the first saying!

It's been another busy day here.

Up too early and off to dds with dgd for sitting duties today. We went to big garden centre to look at poly tunnel covers and they couldn't get anymore after selling the last of them a couple of weeks ago in a sale!! Anyway DD has ordered one for me and it will be coming Saturday as I'm out tomorrow. But at least I know one is coming now, so tomatoes, cucumbers, melons and aubergines will have somewhere to grow now.
In fact I didn't spend anything at the garden centre as I couldn't find the one plant I wanted, no poly cover, I forgot to look for a cheap spade and the man selling veggies gave me the one banana I wanted for dgs, so win win on the banana front :)

Home later than normal as the traffic on the dual carriage way was horrendous, stop/start most of the way so I was glad I'd had enough leftovers from yesterday's tea for today.
And an early night is in order as I'm pooped out and ankle is black and blue and swollen but at least it isn't hurting very  much now. I'll be at the lottie over the weekend so I'll be watching for those pesky holes, wonder if rhubarb will survive me squashing it flat - it didn't look too healthy after I got up off it :)
Five days to go to pay day, rich for a couple of hours until the budgets are done and then back to penny pinching lol!!

Your poor ankle! Keep an eye on it nanny. Rhubarb is very hardy, I’m sure it will spring back.
I once grew a huge triffid plant from melon seeds, but it died in the cooler weather without fruiting. It was just in a sheltered garden though.

Thanks WinterWarrior , it's much better today, well it was until I went over on it, can't keep upright at the moment I'm blaming summer sandals :)
I have no luck at all growing melons, people reckon they are easy but I've been trying the last few years, but I'll get there eventually,  last year when I was clearing the poly out for winter I pulled the plant up and on it was a very small green melon, no hope of ripening but it's the nearest I've got to growing one :D

Today, well I've done two loads of laundry, made a bottom of the fridge soup thing, been and bought a spade for the back garden, a new trowel for the lottie ( I think there's a gnome down there who keeps taking them as I'm always losing them down there) and a couple of inners for the hanging baskets. I haven't got any plants to go In them yet but that will be one of the next things on my list. Can't wait for the tunnel cover to get here so I know I've got one, I'll have to coerce someone down there to help me put it up lol. I'm sure someone will take pity on me if I act like a damsel in distress :D
It's been lovely here today, sunshine and blue sky but with a bit of cold wind, but hey it's sunny!! I did sit out for a little while but went back in when the wind started.
Had a bit of a rant about standing charges on another thread but I'm not going to mention them here, this is my happier more positive place where the sun shines and I merrily dance amongst the flowers - what :D
Better go before I go completely loopy!!!!!
    Have a lovely weekend everyone

They’ll be lining up to help you with your tunnel cover nanny, you are so lovely. You are allowed to rant and to dance here (or hop, if the ankle is still dodgy) 😬
