Well today I was doing grandma duties, change of days this week. I took dgs for a walk in his buggy this morning in the sunshine, it was lovely and warm and all seemed right in the world until the TV news came on! I'm going to have stop watching it so often.
After lunch and his sleep, I sat outside, dgs played and pup had his ball thrown for him many times! And it was lovely, anyway came home had tea and did all the usual bits and bobs and watched a bit of tv. So again not a lot done but a good day has been had.
Felt guilty this morning as 'not my cat' did not want to go out so I had to manually put him out, bless him along side some food and water, and he was waiting at the front door when I got back from dds, he's curled up on a blanket fast asleep at present.
Anyway I'm going to make a quick exit tonight as I really need to get to bed so I will be updating mire tomorrow.
Take care and I hope everyone us keeping well.

I know what you mean about not liking the measurements @nannygladys when you measure yourself. I'm a size 12 in the shops but looking at the measurements on the back of patterns I need to use a size 16 or 18! It's ridiculous really.
Will have to check out the UTube channel at some time.2 -
Sun_Addict - I really hope he isn't thinking of staying here, I don't mind him coming over in the day whilst they are at work, but he's really old and I don't want the responsibility and anyway his 'owners' really want him!
Originally he lived across the road with another family but they moved (not that far away) but he kept coming back to his old house this was years ago, well the new owners didn't want him so another neighbour adopted him on the premise that his original owners paid for vet bills, this was agreed but not sure if it still stands as they apparently weren't answering emails and texts to them from his 'owners' !! So not sure what would happen if he needed the vets.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1 -
joedenise - you can imagine at a size 16/18 how I feel
I looked at the pattern and some of my measurements weren't even on it!!!! But it's OK as long as I can get homemade clothes to fit well, well it would be a start and I really could do with losing all the weight I've put on over the last 2 1/2 years, which I will start to do when I can get my brain into wanting to!

Yesterday at dds, I walked into her local town and visited my favourite dress shop there, they sell mainly boho type clothes and I found a lovely loose fitting top in there, not my usual colours but I'm trying to get away from the red spectrum a bit, this is orange and brown doesn't sound very nice but it is to me and I think it suits my colouring, so that's the start of my summer wardrobe. I won't be getting much summer stuff as I can manage on just a few key pieces I think/hope!!
I also called in lids on the way back for some milk and came out with a lot more - of course, but it will all get used/eaten including the £4.99 parasol!! I bought a few bits to put by but couldn't get any flour at all, the shelves were empty, everything else I managed to pick up though. The other week they had no uht milk but last night had loads, so hopefully it's a supply glitch not a supplier problem, that's what I'm hoping anyway.
Today I've been doing a bit of this and that and going through my banking and budgets. Both dds have had their money through from their council's but I haven't yet, we all have different councils, mine says on their website that we 'should' receive it on 27th April, doesn't mean we will though, I think we are supposed to receive it by the end of April so mine seem to be hanging onto the money until the bitter end
Nothing much else has been happening here, it's been a lovely sunny day but windy so got my laundry washed and dried outside, and I've potted up some seeds. The 'not my cat' woke me at 5am so he went out, it should be his last night here as they are due back tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see what happens as they told me he sleeps outside every night

WinterWarrior- ah thanks, since I started this canopy saving I haven't really bought myself anything so in a silly way I'm quite pleased, I like it so much! Have you worn your jumper yet, the one with cows or sheep on?
I get paid in a couple of weeks so going to readjust something so I can get another summer something! Not sure what though.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1 -
I have! It has green fields and a cow on…I wore it out to lunch on Easter Monday and I really enjoyed looking bright and slightly silly 😁 I normally try and wear dark flattering things, where this makes me look more like a cow in a cow jumper…but a happy cow 😬
You deserve some nice things. We all here don’t want debt, but having a few nice things within budget is a good move…otherwise what’s the point. We need to enjoy the journey xxNot all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

@nannygladys, re pattern sizing....my sister is a very keen dressmaker & she says this is a notorious problem with sewing patterns. I think they are still based on 1950s sizing, which was far less generous than today. I'm not a very confident dressmaker (I'm a knitter) but when my weight was down to a size 16 all over, I made a dress. I deliberately made a size 18 so as to be able to take it in if needed, & really took.my time getting the seam allowances correct.
Well, it came out perfectly.....best garment I'd ever made.....but size-wise, it was way too small - so tight it was unwearable, so off it went to the charity shop.
My sister says a useful trick is to take hip measurements while sitting down......this produces a scary number but can be useful as dresses need to accommodate the additional 'spread' of us sitting down.
