I hope you all had plenty of chocolates, flowers etc over Easter. I had family visit today which was lovely and we actually got to sit in the sun for a bit, plus chocolate
Other wise it's been quiet here and I've just been pootling about.

I was up really early today, before 7am which is like the middle of the night to me. By 10am I thought it was lunchtime lol.
I have decided to have a go making a dress!! I enjoy sewing but I'm not very good at getting them to fit, so I went onto the 'tube' and found a lovely lady and went about making the top part out of redundant material to see how it fit after I did all my measurements and hey presto it fit OK, so I will do the same tomorrow or Friday to see how the bottom half fits!! Really chuffed even if I wasn't very happy with what the tape measure told me, some more salads will have to be eaten and no more chocolate, cakes or really enjoyable fat producing food will be eaten as often as they are at present
I haven't been shopping for nearly a week, so the grocery shopping is getting back on track again and as from tomorrow a new week begins and I can allow my usual amount, but I'm not shopping yet as I don't really need anything. It's very quiet up here at the moment, nobodys out and about, just the 'not my cat' is here.

Can I ask which tube channel lady you watched as I have the same problem which making clothes that fit well! The last thing I made ended up about 2 sizes too small so ended up at the charity shop!

Always best to make a toile (sp) first and pin and alter that until it fits perfectly. That's what I was taught to do using unbleached calico. It appeared I have one hip slightly higher than the other so it was worth doing as that would have made a difference to the hang of the skirt part. All that clutter used to be money2

joedenise - the channel is called Penguin and Pear on the tube and the the video was 7 months ago, she's a larger lady herself so I can relate more yo her. At the moment she's doing more 'house' things but previously it was mostly seeing. Hope that helps.

WinterWarrior - I think tape measures stretch and stretch so we end up smaller!! Nothing to do with hydrocodone over eating and no exercise, plus chocolate of course

Sayschezza - I did make a toile for the bodice out of some unused material using the new measurements and I just need to lengthen it a little!!! It's surprising the difference the new measurements make!!!! don't like the new measurements though even if people say it's just numbers!!! I will have to remember to alter the skirt measurements to match the bodice
