I seem to have gone back into hibernation mode, or is it a 'can't be bothered' one - not sure.

Anyway on my way back from dds last night I called in lids and spent more money than I intended, that's the trouble with me I get carried away, I think I just enjoy buying things even if it's only food!!! I spent £24.06, which is more than a week's shop and I only went in for milk. Don't get me wrong it will all get eaten eventually but I didn't need it, I did treat myself to some chocolate and fruit pastilles (rather like their own brand)  even a chocolate bunny for myself, a pink one that's residing on the fire mantle at the moment!!! But I shouldn't have done it - naughty Nanny, not going to best myself up about it though :/ (amount already added in Sig)

Poor old cat was waiting outside on my garden table for me,  when I got in so fed him first and then had tea.

Today, I haven't been out anywhere, pottered a bit in the garden, my bluebells are all coming out and looking lovely but they are a bit like weeds and popping up all over the place, an old lady I knew gave me a few bulbs donkeys years ago, they do look really nice though. All my veggie seeds seem to be coming up of the first planting so I'm really pleased about that, at least I should have some fresh veggies this year, but there's still a few I still have to get started off, and second sewings done as well. My youngest dgd has given me a bean and sunflower they planted in pots at school so I have the job of trying to keep them alive, no pressure there then!!!! The poor bean plant has been knocked about a bit by the looks of it and the sunflower hasn't shown itself yet!!!! I will plant another of each just in case!!!!

I did buy some plain yogurt to strain through a cloth to see if I get some soft cheese and will be doing that over the next few days. And I ordered a kettle for the stove again that I thought I had done the other day but apparently didn't ( I checked bank and my big river account). It is cheaper for me to use the gas stove rather than electric and I haven't a wood stove or anything like that.

Thinking of g&e, I pay by dd, but each month I am sent a statement of my usage of g&e and it shows I am in quite a bit of credit already, but I'm thinking if I can build up a bit of credit before the next hike it'll soften the blow a bit, so I will carry on being careful, but I'm not being miserly with it I still have to live, the miserly bit will come when I'm really struggling!!!!!!

Anyway off to bed, the cat is asleep on the settee, I hope he doesn't think he lives here when they get back from their cruise  :)

Ah WinterWarrior, I have already had some of the chocolate but the bunny survives!!!

I feel I've had a good day today. Cat woke me at 5am again but I put him out and went back to bed so no bother.

Did some washing, put it outside in the sun, went to the hub for some bread and veg and then sil bought up dgds up for lunch and the afternoon which was lovely. Dgds bean plant hasn't survived, it bent over and looks dead so I will be putting another bean in there as she doesn't know hers was a runner bean and the one I will put in is a dwarf bean!!!  Both littlies played outside in the garden in the small house but they had to sweep the spiders out of it first  :D

The hub is going to be a community pantry in a couple of weeks which is a good thing but I'm wondering if the free veg/bread is going to cease, I'll certainly miss it if it does, even though I only go on average once a week and once for dd.

    Anyway bed time

    It's late again!!

So a good day I think but not that frugal! Up and at it first thing, bedding in washer as it was lovely and warm and sunny. Did a bit of housework, made a coffee and decided to go to the lottie. Rang eldest dgd to see if she wanted to come with me and help out and bless her she did, so picked her up and went to b&m's and spent some money!!!! :) I know it's not like me but I wanted a few bits for the garden. Bags of gravel and a bag of compost I needed, but what I didn't need was the fire pit, solar light, cabbage plants, calabrese plants, kale plants and saxifrage plant!!!!! I tell you I'm not to be trusted in shops and the worst of it was I justifying it all to myself as I was putting them in the trolley!!! :D oh well it's a good job I don't do it everyday and I was able to pay for it all. I will have to KEEP out of shops!!!

Anyway we went off to the lottie and did a couple of hours work, dgd is always worth her weight in gold as she does the lifting and chopping things up down there, whilst I do lighter jobs and she's only a slim young thing but obviously a lot stronger than she looks!!!! She came to mine to help carry gravel etc, and then I took her home, I bet she sleeps well tonight, bless her  :D

Made asparagus and pak choi risotto for tea with some free veg which was lovely and been reading a book I wanted to finish, which I have and now off to bed and that's my uneventful day!!!

B&M is full of things you didn’t know you needed 😆 I’m like a kid in a sweet shop when I’m in there.

Today has been a quiet one again, I've just been in the back garden tidying up and planting the plants I bought yesterday!!!

Last year I decided to completely change one of my borders so I took out all the plants and started from scratch again,  I'm putting in plants that I really want instead of ' oh, I'll have that it'll do' so it's taking me time to really decide what I would like, so although the larger plants are in I'm taking my time with the filling in one's. I may be ok with growing veggies but flowers are out of my comfort zone! Anyway it seems I'm drawn towards a cottage garden border as I seem to be buying plants that were in my grandmas garden! I'm quietly enjoying seeing how it develops.

It's been another lovely sunny day and I sat out for a while reading a new book, I hope it lasts for a while. All my seeds are growing strongly so I need to start potting them on into bigger pots so I'm going to start that tomorrow, it won't be long until the first lot will be going down to the lottie. I have one last area down there to prepare ie dig over, it's only a smallish area for the sweet corn, last year when I grew it I had to share it with some rats/squirrels (I think) they had stripped the cobs of the corn and left the husk on the plants!!! Cheeky things, mind you it still left me with plenty to eat as I had a good year with them!

Anyway off to bed if I can get the cat in, if not he's staying out!! Oh and my rabbit is still in one piece.
