I'm getting fed up now of writing this, but I haven't been out only to the bins, and I haven't spoken to dds or anyone else today and no money spent!!

I could have gone down the lottie as my strawberry patch really needs weeding, but to be honest I couldn't be bothered, I will have to pull myself out of this lethargy and get something done. Apparently, there is a plant sale coming up and they are coupling it with an open day, not sure why as the waiting list has nearly 50 people on it at the moment, but I suppose they can see how it's all run and a nosey around the plots.  It's not a big site and all the plots either have hedging or fences around them so if we don't want anyone coming into our plots we can shut them out lol! It doesn't really bother me as a lot of the plots are immaculate but mine is always a work in progress and probably more realistic so they see the good with the not so good!!!!!

Grandma duties tomorrow, and I think some colouring may be done, we haven't done any for ages and we both quite enjoy it  :) can't think of anything else.

Don't work too hard tomorrow, on JV this morning they were on about employers wanting their employees to take a pay cut if they want to work from home, dammed cheek don't they think people who work from home work hard enough they still start work at the same time!! I wouldn't have thought employment law would allow anything like that.
    Better sign off quick!!!
    Take care everyone.

we tend to work harder from home to prove ourselves and also because if something needs finishing you don’t have to run to beat the traffic. It’s just any excuse to cut pay 😡
I hope you enjoy your colouring. I sometimes do a bit in meetings as I’m a fiddler 😬

WinterWarrior - in the end no colouring was done. He's a real outside little boy, loves stones, mud and running about  :)

Well, just like any day at the moment just at a different house and with a 2 year old!! Really tired so off to bed, had a really lovely day and good catch up with dd3 when she got in from work.
Pay day tomorrow, rich for a few hours before it's all allocated - what a bummer but at least everything will be paid for :/
Nite all, have a good day tomorrow whatever you're doing, I have made myself a list but I don't expect to get it all done tomorrow as I got a bit carried away with it!!

Oh dear, I went a little mad shopping for food and toiletries, the idea was to get enough food in the pantry for the next few months which I have done and actually kept to the list I made, and the same for all the cleaning and toiletries stuff, but it seems quite a lot of money has been spent. The problem now is do I start eating what I have in or still shop for groceries? I'm not sure how these things are supposed to work, I keep thinking if I drop down dead tomorrow someone will come into a lot of food etc lol!!! Anyway when I was having a pantry clean out the other day I found quite a lot of ood tins etc so I have put all those to one side and will hopefully use them sooner than later! And then I suppose start on the pantry stock. It seems strange to see so much stuff ie boxes of cereal, jars of coffee and about 20 tins of tomatoes, but they will all get eaten and if dds run out of anything they will know who to call on :)

I will update signature after I have posted this so it will be up to date. I shouldn't need to spend much money for months (heres hoping) but will continue using the community pantry, hub and the occasional sm.

Well my increase in oap is really nice to have but it doesn't do a jot in helping to pay much with all the new increases, I think it covers the council tax and water but that's about it!! So it's perhaps best I did buy all that food!! I'll have to take another look at ways I can cut corners, trouble is there doesn't seem to be many left, mind you I'm still in a better position than many so I am grateful for it.
Dd 3 put some money in my account to help towards fuel, as I have dgs, I didn't know about it until I was faffing about in my bank account so that was a pleasant surprise and apparently I'm to expect something through the post to say thank you, she wouldn't say what it was but it will be lovely when it comes. I don't think it will be chocolate though as she knows I'm trying to cut down on it.
Well that's it for today and yesterday, the weather here is glorious today and I actually sat out with a coffee earlier on, under the trees at the bottom of the garden listening to the birds, and whilst I was there a blackbird flew down and had a bath (in my bird bath) about 3 feet away, he was beautiful I must have been very still and quiet!!!

Oh just quickly, when I went to vote earlier on I parked my car in a shop car park and started walking to vote and someone yelled 'is that your car' I hadn't put the handbrake on and it was just about to roll into the car opposite, luckily a man had seen it and was trying to stop it and between us we did it, I was so lucky it was a whisker away from going into the car opposite! It's the first and last time I'll be doing that. There are still some nice folks about!!

With food prices going up & forecasts in the news today of 10% inflation, @nannygladys, I don't think it's a bad idea to stock up your pantry at current prices. We're aiming to keep good stocks in, not so much because of shortages (although there are defo a few gaps at the supermarkets), but because prices are on an upward trajectory & we feel we may as well stock up on the sort of core pantry items we use regularly.

I seem to have been quite lucky then as there haven't been any shortages of anything on my lists so far!  My pantry is still looking OK and I am eating them down a bit at the moment but will be stocking up again once we're back from holiday at the end of next month.  Have enough to last until then (I hope!).

A stock is a good idea. Maybe you could use it on a one out one in basis, so you always have a small buffer in case things get really wild? Or just boost it with food pantry bargains and see how long it lasts?
The car must have been really scary, how lucky someone spotted it before anything was damaged.

foxgloves - when I went into lids they didn't have any flour at all of any variety and it was the same when I went in about a fortnight ago, so I called in tosco and get some from there, and that started me off as even in there quite a few sections of shelving were empty. I only bought stuff I would use and it was all tins and dried so it will all get used. I think I'm not used to spending much on food anymore. 10% inflation, wow haven't seen that for donkeys years!!!!
