Aah I love that! We had a cat who used to follow my husband to the pub in the road, sit outside on the bench waiting for him then escort him home! He also used to come to the local shop with me, and follow at a safe distance when took I the dog for a walk!😊😊😊1

We've just had a right old storm here, but 10mins later and its gone!! Thank goodness as most of my baby plants are outside, at least they're well watered now lol.
Met sil at the lottie yesterday afternoon and managed to get the new polytunnel cover on, I think it fits better than the original! I've decided to change the configuration of the inside so this week's job will be to make a start as I want yo start using it next week!!
I haven't been shopping at all - avoiding food shops until I really 'need' something, but I'm not taking anything out of my stock up though, that's for a real emergency not mismanagement!!!
Eldest dgd is helping me get some compost when she's next up (Thursday I think) but that comes out of a gardening pot and she will help me take it to the lottie and bring some home. There's a few other bits I need but I'll have to see how much money is left in the pot before I spend anymore.

Chrystal - the cat is a bit of a nuisance really, he can't decide if he wants to in or out, he claws constantly so it's not very restful when he's on your knee having a fuss and he smells - poor thing lol

WinterWarrior - it was the roads that worried me when he was following me, I know he's an old boy but where I live is really quiet and I'm not sure how much road sense he has, and he couldn't have come much further with all the traffic coming down the hill. I would never forgive myself if something happened to him on my watch.

Amber1980 - your cat sounds so much more sensible than this old boy!!
Across the road where he lives, one of his family are at home with a broken ankle, but he still comes over to me everyday! I can't understand it, he doesn't get fed or given treats here and I don't think it's the sparkling company he's after!!!!
I know they say the cat picks it's family and friends but I really can't understand why he picked me but I'm not complaining too much as he is company for me.

hello Nannyg i enjoy reading your diary and im just delurking to say if you have a WHS near you its worth buying something from there (ie a cheap newspaper) and they give you mcdonalds vouchers to get meals for 1.99, my daughters requested treat of what to do in the holidays is to go there-i think to get a break from my healthy home cooking! So i try and get them when they do them and its quite a saving.2

cocalls - what a brilliant idea, I don't have a WHS near but I could combine it with a visit to the city. I will have a look in there when I next go up there, thanks for that

Or pick up a metro newspaper if you are near a railway station. I think they have the vouchers in them at certain times. Also download the McDonald’s app as they have lots of offers1

cbsexec - thanks for that, I rarely use a train but if I'm near the station I'll pop in and have a look.
