WinterWarrior - I have heard that saying before but haven't a clue what a clout is, to me it's something I got around the  ear when I naughty, back in the day  :D

😁 that too. In old English it means a piece of cloth or leather according to google, but in that context I was always led to believe it meant don’t take your vest off 🤣 An old great grannies saying.

My mum often used to threaten me with a clip round the ear when I was naughty as a child 😆

WinterWarrior - I was granny reared and had to wear a liberty bodice when I was little which was nice and warm in winter but I didn't like having to undo the little cloth covered buttons, so much preferred the vest I was made to wear when a little older!!!

I had to wear a liberty bodice as well @nannygladys!  Those little buttons were a right pain to undo, weren't they?  Vests were much easier.

Well I got to the lottie, l planted most of the my courgettes, a giant pumpkin dgd2 started off and then it started raining so had a quick drink and sit down in the shed and then planted the rest of the tom plants in the poly. The other courgettes at home will get planted out next week and the pumpkins as well. I still have loads of potting on to do and I haven't even started my climbing beans off yet, but they'll be ok I'll start them off in pots on Thursday.

The strawberries are coming along very nicely, so plenty of jam will be made for the family, and the raspberries are really coming along well at last! The blackcurrants and red currants seem to be doing OK as well, I will have to find some netting out before the birds eat them all!! So it's all go down there. I still have loads of clearing to do at the front and back (brambles, weeds etc) but that's just on going each time I go there.

No money spent and I get paid on Wednesday - yay  :D I should get my full new figure oap this time, so I can see what a huge difference it's going to make - not!!!! Lol

Well I just failed big time, I must have forgot to press 'post comment' on the above post, so just done it but its a couple of days old!!

Losing track of days but yesterday, Wednesday, I was paid and my budgets all done and monies moved about. It looks a bit pathetic in the old bank account but there's enough as long as I don't want to buy anything or go anywhere!!!! That's only half true I have enough to buy my food and petrol :D but haven't been able to put as much away as usual in the canopy fund so I've rounded it up to the next £100 and if there's anything left at the end of this pay period, I'll put that in as well, at least I've put some money in there. I'll update figure after I post this.

Today after watching the changing of the guards etc, I went to the lottie and planted cucumbers and melons in the tunnel and the rest of the courgettes in their bed, it was lovely and quiet down there and quite warm, I enjoyed my break for coffee watching and listening to the birds and the barges going past. Then did my usual clearing and weeding which is never ending but at least I can breath in fresh air and think about absolutely nothing!!!!  :D

After tea I've just pottered about outside and planted some more dwarf and climbing beans in pots for the lottie, I'm growing so much more this year with the hope that it all grows and keep us (me and dds) in fresh veggies for a good while, I can hope.

There's a canal at the back of my lottie and it was very busy with boat traffic today, you can tell it's a school holiday! I have pup from Saturday onwards for a week whilst dd and family go to the south coast for a holiday and he will be one year old on Monday, it's gone really quick in some ways but it seems that they have always had him, anyway it goes without saying I'm looking forwards to having him here and if I get a nice photo I'll post it on here!

So that's about it really, was really pleased to see the Queen looking so well and happy, my stepdad certainly didn't look that good like her at 94!! (He didn't make it to 95)

You’ve been so busy. I would love to see the pup 🐶
The queen did look good. I’m a tad worried about the Duke of Kent though! He seemed to be held together by willpower rather than muscle.
Sorry about the manky pension 😕 but I read somewhere that if you have a roof over your head, food to eat and can pay your bills then you are doing better than a large amount of the world’s population. You are doing great and should be proud of yourself.
