Hoping to save time has Martin Lewis provided any clarification here on the Forum on whether a conversion factor of 0.0283 is mandatory in law when converting cu.ft from a meter reading to cu.mtrs and Not 2.83 as my old supplier used although my meter plainly registered cu.ft and the supplier knew that ?.

Martin Lewis sold this site many years ago and his name is used under licence.  He ceased contributing to the forums at that time.

This question has already been answered (your old supplier is correct) because Imperial gas meter readings are always in hundreds of cubic feet.
Repeatedly asking the same question again won't change the facts.
As previously advised, you're also still posting in the wrong forum.

    - so many years after he sold MSE.

The Editor-in-Chief of MSE, Marcus Herbert,   reports to Martin Lewis.

I chose the energy forum . How can I be on the wrong forum.
Also my meter does not register 100’s of cu ft.
Also my new supplier will use 0.0283 as confirmed
Also a Govt. Webpage agrees with me. I should think they can be trusted to know some physics as anyone else ?

If you wish to contact Martin directly, then Twitter seems to be his current social media platform of choice.
    @MartinSLewis

But he's very busy, and receives literally too many questions to answer them all personally, so no guarantee he will respond to your question.
But worth a try - he does respond to some tweets.

Edit: Looks like you've already found your answer on gov.uk. No point trying to contact Martin unless you think think the government page is wrong.

He used to be a fairly prolific poster on the board and would join in on threads.  Three posts in 2019, two in 2018, three in 2017 on threads that were about him specifically is hardly an indication that he posts on these boards to answer individual's questions.

You should be on the main section of the Energy forum.  Not the subsection dealing with "LPG, Heating Oil, Solid & Other Fuels"

Yes, just seen this is the 2nd thread with the hour created by this new user asking essentially the same question. (even though they had already found the answer they were seeking on an official government webpage)

Their previous thread can be found here:

Also my meter does not register 100’s of cu ft.

Usually there are four large digits on the left and two digits in red on the right.  The full six digits represents the reading in cubic feet but you are asked to submit only the first four digits which are respectively, 100,000s, 10,000s 1,000s and 100s of cubic feet.
