Argos selling used items

after my experiences with argos, i choose to shop elsewhere. They are not the cheapest 99% of the time.Look in their xmas sale booklet , a 1GB sd card reduced to £22. I just paid £7.99 for a 2GB one from play...and that will be new and i wont have to queue up in a line of other people who have been called to collect their goods, so a 5min wait turns out to be a 30min wait whilst they try to get the stock from upstairs.
People exploit the returns, theres more than one thread with references to that.It seems to me that some people buy things there for the sole purpose of exploiting it!0 -
The reason why there are used goods is not because of Argos but because of customers. They are a business and having the 28 day money back guarantee is something they are offering to benefit customers. If customers then return shoddy goods then it is the customer screwing other customers rather than Argos trying to make extra money.
You cant expect the returned items to be binned so everyone should expect when they shop at Argos, what they are buying could be a returned item. Of course the returned item should be new-ish and fully functional but to expect everything to be unopened and to still have the 28 day moneyback guarantee still in place is not logical.0 -
when i buy a new item , i expect a new item.
If its been returned , and put back into stock , it should then be classed as b grade , and the price reflects that.0 -

Agreed, Argos are breaking the law by trying to palm off " used " items as " New ".
The reason they offer the return policy is because they save on store space, the customer cannot normally see an item before buying it, as you can in a normal shop.
If a customer takes an item back as faulty, that item should be returned to the makers.0 -
If you take back a digital anything you will have to lie as they are not covered by the Returns clause0
-
It will also say something like 'these conditions will not affect your statutory rights' which means the Distance Selling Regulations take precedence0
-
Yep, you dont get 28 days, but you get 7 days under the distance selling regs.0

Right, so i buy a digital camera from Argos, online reserving it to store, i can take it back within 7 days, and they cant refuse a refund.
You shore?0
