I bought a small cyclone type hoover, only to find that it lacked the tube to connect the body to the head part.
Not sure what someone would do with a phallic shaped tube!
:rotfl:
Took it back, but checked the replacement in store for all bits
did you check with the local hospital to see if someone had been admitted with it attached to a part of their anatomy ? :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
while this thread is admittedly not a particularly appealing read I can't help but feel it may be linked to the fact that the rest of the threads in here have most people being recommended to lie to the customer services worker about the state of an item to get a refund.0

One thing I wonder, if people return an item as "faulty" do they stick it back in stock?0

I wouldn't be surprised. We bought a Pet Vax and it was actually used and broken out of the box.
Took it back and the till woman said they get a lot from another Argos. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -

But most of the lies would be to state that the item was faulty, so the item should have been withdrawn from sale under the circumstances.0 -
Stating an item was faulty rather than just that they didn't want it - would take more of these used items out of circulation.
They should scrap the 30 day return-if-you-don't-like-it offer. They clearly put the items back on sale and some sucker gets a "used" one. More and more items are excluded anyway.0 -

Some items are viewed by people though and are opened by staff and then resealed.
Thats why 15 years ago I bought an electronic personal organiser from Argos and there were 30 names and numbers already stored in it - pfft - returns staff do not have the time or ability to check.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.0 -
Its not just if "you dont like it" is has to be UNUSED and UNOPENED!0

Doesn't have to be unopened 'Most things we sell are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee. Just return them to any store, unused, in their original undamaged packaging, in a saleable condition, along with the receipt* and we'll give you a refund.'0

All you Argos workers - you can't deny the money-back policy is abused, leaving full paying customers with something not quite new, when they want something which someone else has not used before.0
