For me it is over - the claim was dismissed - but for them the judge is calling another hearing where he wants a statement to answer some major concerns he had:
Why they are harassing people with their letters - pointed out their reminder letters were threatening...
he wants an explanation as to why they had inconsistencies in their statement.
He wanted them to explain where they got their charges from and stated they had no right to charge that much.
His parting phrase was - it's not just about this defendant - I am more concerned it is bigger than just this case.. I am concerned about how many people have just paid out of fear. he wanted to know how many letters had gone out, and how much money they had earned that they weren't entitled to!!!
Once he has those answers he will decide what I will be awarded
The judge started straight in on their court pack - questioned their Chronology, disagreed with their terminology.. asked them to provide a breakdown of claim amount - which the guy couldn't explain.. continuously asked them to prove I was the driver - which they couldn't.. I told them how many people could drive my car - so only small probability it was me..
He asked why they started going after me as the keeper and the driver.. and then why did they drop the keeper claim in their final statement..
i will add to this as I remember things and also after I get the final result confirmed7 -
            That is superb!

Super breakdown of the hearing details. Wow, the Judge seems to have got hold of a good handful of short and curlies there! Will you be party to the second hearing @Elf2021, or will you just await its outcome ..... and your costs award?
Will this influence how DCB Legal behave in future, or are they too leather-skinned? Could tee them up nicely for a SRA complaint?
I wonder if this Judge has studied the DLUHC Code of Practice findings?Given the fob-off from Tracy Baitup, once you have the judgment and your costs award, I'd write to her and Luke Gross and give them a detailed account of the hearing (similar to your post above) and tell them to rethink their policy about how they treat their customers as the British justice system seriously disagrees with them! See what they say. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Sooner or later, such comments from a Judge had to happen.
We hope that his comments will spread to all the county courts.
I am certain that it will not be too long before these "monopoly money players" discover that such claims will fail and cost them money.
If you could tell us the name of the judge, the court and claim number, it will help others to refer to this Judge3 -
Fantastic - don't gloat too much to your solicitor friend who advised you to pay before you came here!!5
