Yesterdays food, my weigh day.
B - Fruit & Alpen light, (it's the same again but keeps me off bread and helps with portion size).
L- Fruit, bag of Ring0s and an ice lolly. One of those days when I did not know what I wanted, so kept out of the kitchen.
D - Chicken Jalfrezi with a side salad and new home grown potatoes. Curry was found in the freezer the night before, it is not something I buy (ready meal from S@insburi) but have one in if I CBA. I will buy another one of these, not high in cals 217 for half a pack. Did have a look at Mr Peppers Nan bread, but resisted.
S - Can of full fat C0ke and a 100 cal ice cream. I don't drink tea or coffee, can't stand diet cola so I have the odd can of pop as a treat, a bit like grabbing a coffee.
No gin, bread or chocolate.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Hi everyone. I'm still here, (sorry Blue) though life is still pretty chaotic.
Amazingly I am STS even though I've been grabbing random food here and there. I tell you. It's the best maintenance diet I have found.
However, maintenance is not what this is about, so I must make more of an effort in future. Not this week though. I am going to a wedding this weekend. It is a wondrously chaotic event with a BBQ in my friend's large garden afterwards. Knowing them the food will be plentiful and delicious and I intend to enjoy it.
Dumpling, so lovely to hear of your successes. You try so hard and it is so difficult for you. I am amazed at the way you continually pick yourself up and try again. You really are an inspiration.
Little Voice. Well done you! We will miss you, but you deserve a rest.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Well done on staying the same, Monnogran. If you can lose, then maintain for a while, and then have another weight loss burst is sounds pretty sustainable.
Todays food.
Ham and pickle butty. Pears.
Blue cheese and onion butty. Pear, cherries, raw carrots. Fab.6 -
Good evening everyone
I have had a good day starting with an early morning call from my diabetes nurse reducing my insulin as I am seeing such good numbers. That has really encouraged me to keep going and then I log in here and see such a lovely message from monnagran that my head is swelling a bit xxx
I cooked dinner again tonight and made cheesy nacho mince and rice which was delicious. It was from the 2 chubby cubs recipe site so I don't think it was too bad calorie wise. I am missing having something sweet for afters though but it's something I am going to have to get used to.
My meals today were:
b - weetabix and a slice of seeded toast and marmite
l - fish sticks, scrambled egg and tomatoes
d - aforementioned cheesy nacho mince
s - 1 plum
So many of you are doing really well it is fantastic to see but well done to all of us for keeping on xx6 -
Brilliant news about the insulin Dumpling.
Well done!

dumpling said:I am missing having something sweet for afters though but it's something I am going to have to get used to.At the time I decided to do something about my current lockdown weight gain - I had a packet of 4 m&s Bakewell tarts in the cupboard. (Much nicer than the mr Kipling ones - and they have a whole cherry!) - They are still there! (And now out of date)
I said to myself that I wasn’t going to eat them - not even to ‘finish them off’ - otherwise it might end up with me being finished off 😂
willpower is so hard to maintain.Maybe to start - make your portion size of the something sweet smaller. Whatever you like / cut it in half - and have it over two nights. We all achieve things in different ways - and you’ll have to experiment to see what works for you.But once you’ve done it a few weeks - it becomes so much easier to maintain the abstinence 😂5 -
Welcome back Toni'sFriend it's lovely to see you
Great news re the insulin Dumpling you've reminded me to get out my PON booksdid you see they are bringing a new one out before Christmas?
Sirens I hope you are feeling ok? I use my AFryer a lot it makes great crispy'fried' chicken, I use thigh fillets as it I find the breast too dry and just coat in breadcrumbs favoured with spices I skip the egg and flour part and it works really well. Jacket potatoes are as good as oven ones 😋
How are the joints Zafiro? Too much wheat flares mine up but luckily not as quick as your reaction, it's usually if I eat too much over a period of time rather than the odd bit. Before I was born my parents had bantams and my older siblings teased her for years as she was frightened of the cockerel she said it used to attack and it had the run of the garden.
Izadora sorry you're feeling blah at the moment
WI for me with another STS this week I think the scales are stuckor it could be all the after dinner carp I'm eating 🙄

Brilliant news on the insulin levels Dumpling, so encouraging.
I am exactly the same in wanting something sweet at the end of the day. my go to stand-by are packets of Hartley's sugar free jelly, not the ready made ones but the packets you have to do yourself. I think one whole packet which makes two pints is 38cal. I make the whole thing up to about one pint but then add either frozen fruit or a pot of yogurt , or a drained mashed tin of peaches. I've even done it in different layers to make a funny looking trifle at a weekend.
Yesterday, I had a bad day, - all to do with the cheese reaction, as I've been like it before - feet/hands swollen, joints ached particular hips which is odd. Unable to walk very far as it hurts. So it was a diet of fruit and veg plus a bit of protein, usually eggs, no carbs. i've done this before and it seems to help.
Food was
B-0
L- fruit and 2 eggs,
D - small piece of plain chicken, large plain salad, loads of strawberries/grapes. - very full
Today:- had a much better night, can move a little better - so far so good.5 -
Zafiro, SF jelly is my saviour also. I make one up and either have a whole 1pint portion on its own or whisk up a small amount of evaporated milk to make a mousse.
It really satisfies that urge for a sweet something.
