Too hot by far. I need to move Gertie to new place tomorrow. It normally takes 2-3hrs as I have to dismantle the existing pen and move it to a new place. She is now 11wks old and twice the size of her foster mum. I can see myself getting up at 6am to get the job done before it's too hot.
I'm not saying anything yet but I know I put on at least a couple of pounds+ over the weekend but this morning when I reluctantly weighed myself it had magically disappeared - maybe the scales are wrong!!! weigh-in Fri.
Yesterday
B:- 0
L- bits of mutton shoulder, lettuce, toms, mayonnaise, ice cream
D- A bit of blue goat cheese, 5 walnut halves, lettuce, more ice-cream but this one was HM so I know it was calorific. 1 square 85% cocoa chocolate.6 -
@Brambling 2.5lb off please - sorry if if this is the wrong or right day to post, by default Tuesday is my 'wish for luck' and 'step one at a time' on the scales day. Can change the days if you want?
typical day for me food wise - today was
B - Alpen light bar and a bowl of mixed fruit
L - Tomatoes, Melba toast, 1 small Philly light, couple of slices of Turkey and Strawberries
D - Turkey salad with a couple of new spuds... more Strawberries!
Have managed to avoid bread as this is my down fall. If their is a Strawberry version of Violet Beauregarde I might be turning into her as I have eaten loads, lol.
Have had drinks on 1 evening... the only thing I miss. I don't eat any red meat so if you see Turkey in my meal plans that's the reason. Happy to post the odd 'food list' if anyone is interested.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Good evening everyone
I am actually melting as it is 27 degrees in this room and that is with 2 fans on the go. My husband is providing me with lots of iced water which helps. I'm off to bed for another sleepless night I suspect but I am so tired I may get some shut eye.
My meals today have been:
b - shreddies and 2 slices of marmite toast
l - crustless quiche and salad
d - bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, tomato and mushrooms followed by Oppo icecream - very unpleasant and synthetic tasting, a couple of spoonfuls were more than enough
s - activia yoghurt and an apple
I feel I have eaten loads today although looking back it wasn't that bad. I wish I could eat more fruit but have been told to stick to 1 portion a day which is hard for me.
I have decided to hold off from weighing in until next Monday as I am still holding onto a lot of water because of my bad leg and the heat.
Well done to everyone who is persevering we will all get there in the end xx6 -
There's no set weigh day Jenny, we all chose different days for different reasons 🙂 if I don't see a WI just nudge me I miss at least one a month so don't take it personally just thing you are the chosen one 😁 seeing other people's food lists and menu plans is always helpful
Dumpling I feel your pain re the heat and sleepless nights, I don't do well in the heat inside or out and I will admit to being just a wee bit touchy at the moment due to tiredness. Thankfully Teams has a mute button and we don't do video meetings, I did mute and have a good swear this afternoon as I had gone pass the biting my tongue stage 😐 I have looked at the Oppo up ice cream but think I may give it a miss now
I've eaten plenty of veg today and I'm hopeful all the veg in my Asian Noodle salad will counter act the very nice peanut butter dressing 😬 it did make three portions so I'm hopeful tomorrow's WI will be kind. This heat plays havoc with the eating as I'm not hungry early on but as it cools I want to pick 🙄Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -

I've had a severe allergic to bites on Sunday, (penicillin needed) they helped bring swelling down and take a bit of heat out.
They are under a fiver on Am@z0n... maybe worth a try?
Hope you feel better soon.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Morning All -1lb for me this week.
I am a little fed up as was home last week as our branch closed for deep clean as staff member had tested positive, was ds birthday on Monday just gone so I had booked days holiday and coming Saturday to go out for the day, then on Sunday dd and dh both tested positive. Luckily they are not too bad, flu symptoms which are miserable, just waiting on second test results now, but we are all stuck in house for 10 days, poor ds missed last week of school and no birthday trip (we will have to postpone) but I am going a little stir crazy, also worried how my work will take it, I think I've only done 3 days work for the month so far! As long as dd and dh are fine that's the main thing, am continuing to test ds just in case he catches it too, it's quite hard to avoid 2 people in one small house though. I am trying to use my exercise bike but it is so hot down here 🥵.
Oh dumpling I read somewhere you can make cooling pads from uncooked rice, you put it in an old sock, tie the end no put it in the freezer, you can also heat in the microwave for hot pad, I confess to not trying it though so not sure how effective it is.Take care all x'You have brains in your head. I was pinged on Friday to self isolate - so haven’t been out for my daily exercise - although still keeping to my calorie control - thats resulted in a smaller loss this week than previous weeks, but a loss is a loss - and there’s just 4 days to go of self isolation (so I’m expecting something similar next week).2lbs loss4

Let me just say I have a lot of weight to lose. A LOT! Which is something that I've wanted to do for years but when you see what would get you to a "suitable for your height" weight .....well I just lose the will to do anything and have another peanut butter sandwich.
The amount I weigh in pounds is ridiculous. The amount I weight in kilos appears at first to be quite good & then I remember I have to multiply it by 2.2 to convert to pounds and it's back to ridiculous.
And then my scales died and needed a new battery. Which means re-doing all the settings and I ended up with the weight in stones. Now call me crazy but stones mean nothing to me really - I mean I can do the maths to convert but if someone said they weighed 12 stone I have no concept of what that looks like. And that's when the lightbulb flared into action!!!
I'm not going to look at the stones. I don't care how many there are as they are meaningless. What is meaningful is the pounds that go from 0 to 13.9. Now that's not a lot is it? So that's easy to do and I'll I need to do is make sure that it slowly nudges to a lower number and lower and lower and then it will be allowed to turn back to a 13.9 and I can do it all over again.
I'm thinking it's like I'm walking down the stairs at work. Now if it's a fire drill we use the stairs that go down in a spiral without a break which is incredibly tiring when you start off on the 10th floor. So I hate fire drills.
But it if wasn't a fire drill I'd be allowed to use the normal stairs which have a flat bit at each floor and half way down to the next floor where the stairs zig back the other way. And I'll I could see it just the next flat bit. Oh yes I can see some of the next zig but I don't have to look at it I just need to get to the next flat bit.
So early last week I was seeing 10 pounds. On the weekend I had a peek at 9 pounds. And yesterday is was so hot I didn't really eat much and drank about 20 gallons of water (& exercised regularly by going to the loo....) and this morning saw 8 pounds!!! A new low!!! HURRAH!!
So having started this a couple of months back my net result is that I know that very soon I will have lost a whole stone. So having started this a couple of months back my net result is that I know that very soon I will have lost a whole stone. Whatever that means! But if you can get started - get over the first hurdle to make a change - the differences are never obvious in the early stages. The important thing is not to feel like you’re not getting anywhere because you ‘look the same’ in the mirror.Every ounce, every pound, every kilo, as it (sometimes very slowly) drops away, and the process continues over weeks, then months, you’ll suddenly realise that those trousers that didn’t fit now do. But you still look the same right ?The thing is we don’t see the changes when we look in the mirror but our bodies do change - but so slowly we don’t notice it. Those few kg’s soon become 10kg - 10kg becomes 15kg - your clothes begin to feel baggy. You then know you’re winning the race. There’ll be setbacks along the way. There’ll be days when you’re sure you did everything right - and your scales refuses to acknowledge your hard work (some days they’ll even go up when you fully expected them to go down). The key is that although you weigh daily - look at the trend over a month to see if you’re heading in the right direction. For me - I had to exercise more and reduce my calorie intake.I do use an Apple Watch (an old one) to monitor my daily movement and exercise - and I find that helps get me off my backside to move around.I’m sure they say that the average intake for an adult should be 2000 a day - but if I consume that many calories my weight gains. Currently I’m restricting my self to less than 1200 a day - and ideally under a 1000 a day - combined with some daily exercise. That’s what works for me - but might not work for you. It’s a tough slog to be determined to lose the weight. Sometimes that pack of chocolate biscuits really does seem the answer (or whatever high calorie food you enjoy) - and it may give you short term boost of happiness - until you see the scales over the next few days.I can see you’re determined - I can see you’re making progress - so please, please don’t give up. You’re on the way ! (As are the rest of us!)
if you can keep it going - over the next twelve months - you will look back and be amazed at what you achieved.Exercise and calorie control are both key to keeping the losses happening. My own tip - once you drop a clothes size comfortably - if the budget allows get a few new nice things to wear - but don’t go crazy - as these will just be temporary - continuing the journey will lead you down another size - and then time to buy a few more. Don’t spend too much on clothes though until you’re within range of your goal.Keep up the good work.7
