NDS 7 yesterday and aiming for 8 today. After reading the MSE newsletter last week, I’m trying to get my deposit refunded on three Oyster cards I have from different trips to London. Each card has a deposit of £5, so in theory I should get a £15 refund. Transport for London have emailed back to acknowledge my message - hopefully I’ll soon have £15 to add to mortgage OP. So far this year I’ve paid £594 of my £1000 mortgage OP target. We should finally have a little income from OH’s work within the next week or so. He’s been 8 months without any income at all and we’ve been living on my part-time wage (which is below the national average for the UK). I’m really quite proud of myself for how I’ve managed our budget to get us through these very lean months. But I am really looking forward to being able to save from a wage again although it will vary from month to month depending on how much work OH has on. We’ll still have to live lean if we’re to save at all.Grateful for the sunny weather (I believe it’s to break today), the mini TV series called Time (watched it all last night - very engrossing), and finally an appointment for the hygienist!

Some days life is all about your dreams, your hopes and the future.
But there are some days where life is just about putting one foot in front of the other.
And that's okay
Those days when you feel you are walking through thick, wet cement. Those days when you had a do to list a mile long but none of them got done because 40 other things came up that had to be done right away. Those days when you cannot feel anything but overwhelmed. Those days when you are sad and dark and feeling so far behind. Those days when it feels like the world is closing in on you. Those days when there is so much to fix and do that it overwhelms, so you do nothing because you just can't manage it.
Those days.
Those days are hard and lonely. Those days can eat at your sense of self and prevent you from moving forward. Those days are exhausting. Those days make want to sleep for a year.
Those days are the days when you have to take deep soulful breaths. Those days you have to remind yourself that it won't feel like this forever. Those are the days you need to do something really good and loving for yourself. Those are the days when you must give yourself a break. Those days are okay.
Those days are hard and sometimes it feels as though there are way too many of them strung together. Those days can take you down. Those days are the times you need to look for the littlest things that make you smile and are full of beauty and focus just there for a while. Those days can be long and the hours can drag but the moments in the day when you allow some light in can make up for some, if not all, the darkness.
Those days are a season to be endured but not a lifetime. Those days will transform into other days at some point and once they do you'll be so grateful for the new sense of light and happiness you feel. Those days can be endured.
On those days please remember that you are not alone and that you are loved. On those days, know that so many others are experiencing similar struggles. On those days, take care of you.

Sending hugs to each & every one of you. Some will need one, others are just because I can! Great news Ditty, sounds like he's in the right place. I'm extremely grateful to the NHS after how much they helped hubby.
Now on NSD#15. Woke up to torrential rain, had arranged to meet a friend for a walk, so we decided to don waterproofs & go anyway! The sun came out halfway round & we were boiling! Lots of laughs & the 5 miles didn't seem that long with all the talking we were doing 😂
Washed out both of the paint trays, rollers, etc (long overdue) cleaned the bathroom. Made 3 birthday cards then did the large pile of ironing.
Washed up after tea, then visited a friend, the plan was to chat & knit, but no knitting got done lol.
Grateful for good friends, the rain (water shortage here just now), the feeling of achievement & you lot xUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Today I’m grateful for good chat with work colleagues about our team’s feelings for return to work vs longer term working from home. Seems like everyone is on roughly the same page of wanting a blend of home and office in future, but also everyone is able to be flexible about days, times etc. Nice that there are no glaring conflicts (yet)! Also grateful for surprise post today with a little present from my aunt. Pre pandemic we would usually meet for a nice lunch once a month and I really miss her7

Today I am grateful for clearing garden bits and pieces to the tip, for getting laundry done, for taking dc skateboarding, for the satisfaction of clearing out and tidying up the bureau, for not being caught in the rain.

thanks for the wise words mothernerd - "this too will pass" is an expression i've told myself a number of times to get me through tough times.
Very tired today after a long day at work yesterday, then couldn't sleep so stayed up watching the women's triathlon. Glad to be able to work at home today.
Had a ranty email from someone at my PT job, i saw he'd emailed last night but decided i'd read it today - glad i did! Wound me up a bit- he was ranting about H&S and saying risk assessments are petty bureaucracyIt's my job to point out these things so that's what i'll do! I sought advice from someone who is very wise and she also reassured me i'm right & gave me some words to use in reply.
Got fly invasion in the kitchen so a deep clean is neededCan't see any crumbs or sticky surfaces anywhere but will empty and wash bin and food waste bin and give all surfaces another clean down, making me feel all itchy yuk
Went to charity shop to return dress my friend bought when visiting, i paid her for the dress so the money came back to me. While there I bought a t shirt, 2 cards & scarf for my sis birthday plus a cross stitch kit for £1 for me; still had change from the dress return
Gratitudes - wise advice about PT job; bargains at CS; early finish at work
