Kerry - you seem to have done well this year with your work shifts. Go you!Today I am grateful for the neighbour's children being away so it has been oh-so-peaceful, for iPlayer and the women's skateboarding, for colour catchers doing their thing when in with a tie-dyed tee shirt, for finding some useful info I wanted on tinterweb, for the washing machine delivery men arriving at 6.50 am so we weren't waiting around for them at all!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Thanks all, I brought him a bag of things in hospital but was not allowed in as he is still being tested for covid, and treated for massive infections - so it is all in all very hard to work out where it is all going, but it is a very good and modern and super well organised NHS hospital. So I'm confident he is getting the best care.
The ward does not exactly volunteer information, like that his covid test was negative, so that is a massive step in a direction! Thanks again, and I am grateful for him being conscious and contactable on his phone (even if he can't really reply). SO I feel that is a good end to a very long 24 hours.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Oh flippin' eck @ditty1234 !! Sending love and hugs and strength to you both.Only just logged on today, the last I read was that you were going to set DS2 on the case of the (possibly) missing brother.Good job your psychic-mum-sense was working, so glad he is conscious, that it is not covid, and that he is getting treatment. And that you can talk to him. Even if he can't answer much, he knows you are there in his corner, and will fight for him.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Wrote a little to do list this morning and have done some things. Aerial man came. The two aerials on the roof are both analogue. He has taken them down and put a digital one up. He put the large tv (DS2's) into my room (I cleared the top of the drawers). The newer of mum's small tvs is not working, the much older one lit up when plugged in but could not find the correct remote (i checked about a dozen drawers) so couldn't go any further.
Only solution to bring back the big tv from my room - it is stuck on analogue and he could not get it to change to digital. It has a universal controller, not it's original one. So back to big tv and roku box for now (I did ask him to plug it all back in again as it's difficult for me to move it and feel behind to put things in the right slots). He tested the cable and said the signal strength was not great and should he replace it. I said yes, so that when mum gets someone to go and buy a new tv everything else is in place. Only cost an extra 20 pounds for the cable and calling them back out would have been 50. Total cost was 168 pounds, including call out fee. Mum has been complaining about how they charge and operate (she thought he was only coming to see what needed doing)so I made a point of telling her how much the call out fee was and why they charged it - he must have spent an hour checking what was and wasn't working and why before giving us options. Two aerials and a tv to go to the tip (and working on getting the sewing machine out of my shed)
When he arrived I had just started work on the large heavy woollen quilt. It used to spend the summer months in a cupboard in what is now mum's room. It really takes up a lot of space in a cupboard so I put it on the floor, folded it in half and rolled it into a big sausage shape. I wrapped it in a small blue checked shawl of mine, tied it near to each end (used a full skein of embroidery thread for each end) and it will go on my bed as a bolster to lean against when sitting up reading or possibly at the bottom of the bed to prevent getting swollen ankles.
Last night I started making up a piece of embroidery into a cushion. I did all but a few inches on one side of the zip. Started on the second side whilst the aerial man was here and have finished that bit whilst watching a film this evening. Working with two difficult fabrics but going for progress not perfection. If I stop or start undoing what I have done, the recipient will never get it. Just do the best I can and hope for the best.
I intended making my bed today so had gathered sheets and covers. Felt very tired when the tv man went and fell asleep on top of a mound of bedding (I always put my mask on if I start to feel drowsy, sometimes the oxygen alone wakes me up). Woke at about 4 pm (hadn't had lunch). Ate then did the top of the wardrobe - simpler than expected. Checked the kitchen cupboards and carried a large full bag through full of things that needed replenishing (also managed to accommodate nearly all the food items packed in the box that got squashed).
Knocked two boxes of cereal from the top shelf cupboard in mum's room (she decided they should live there) and shuffled them into the cereals cupboard. I had to move a lot of packets (packet rice/ soup/ pasta n sauce etc) and have put them all in one of my small bags at the side of mum's bed. She has been told to leave them there. Mummy of twins is coming tomorrow and she can put the tv that is still working in the top cupboard (mum's idea) rather than me (it's not that heavy but might feel it when I'm two steps up, trying to keep my balance and push it into a cupboard that goes all the way up to the ceiling). I've also lined up some jars with lids that I've had problems with and have a bag of craft stuff to take home.
She is bringing multiple children (4 or 5) but told mum she didn't know if I would be happy having them in the house. Now hoping the rain holds off because they can all by my little slaves - sorry helper elves outside (they loved helping me tidy the shed). if it's raining, I may put them in the shed or try to rig up a cover for part of the yard. I have a heap of soil and lots of planters/ buckets and they can transport water to all areas of the garden. just need to get up early and move any dangerous stuff - saws etc out of the way.
Grateful for getting quite a lot done, progress in lots of areas. Simple food (yoghurt, one piece of fish, 2 apples, toast), a good series to watch and a good film watched with mum this evening. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
evening turtles
phew ditty glad to hear the news about DS1.
Had a very long day at work after staying up late last night to watch the triathlon! Called at a friend's on way home and had a quick catch up. Eaten well but hardly moved. Been a NSD - think i'm at 8 now. Need to have lots more NSDs as my bank account is poorly pending my self employment invoice being paid ...... Not sure that will be soon as most staff still on furlough.
Gratitudes - big meeting at work that has taken up loads of time, is over (& went well); lovely catch up with friend who i haven't seen for about 4 years; fab sport on TV especially watching the divers win their gold medal
