Just renewed mine. Was on Dolphin 35 but paying 25 a month due to special offer. Now the contract expired the price went back to 35 a month.

As I didnt use my minutes they offered for me to downgrade to the dolphin 25 (unlimited txts and 200 mins) for 17 a month (including my loyalty discount). Also got one of the new sony's for free.

    So Im happy :)

    Round Three

Receive my PAC code yesterdayand in the letter was a request to ring Orange to see if I could get a deal. Duly did so only to be given the same offer as before - £130 for the C905 and then credited to my account.

I said I would just port my number to O2 PAYG, start a new contract with Orange from Dial A Phone and port my number back.

He still wouldn't budge. Ah well. If they want to pay that extra commission then so be it.
  • I was on Orange PAYG and was offered a new Nokia (whatever) Unlimited landline calls, 300 anytime x-network calls and 100 texts for £9.78 on an 18 month contract. Since most of my calls are to landlines this seemed like a fair deal to me. I may keep the phone or sell it on E-Bay or sell my existing handset (Samsung D600) and sweeten the deal even further.

Weekends are a bad time to call, very few staff, very over worked in a call centre that's almost empty. Bad tempered team leaders (because they don't have enough staff to handle the calls...). Try again in the week (between 9 and 5)...
  • My contract is up 18 Mar 2009, and I've been investigating an early upgrade (mainly due to my SPV being a bit of a temperamental bratling!)
Obviously I can action an early upgrade from 18 Dec (tagging the extra months onto the end of my new contract), but does going down this road weaken your negotiating power in respects of bagging a half decent upgrade deal?

Have my eye on the HTC Touch HD
Currently on Dolphin 30 (18 month)
    300 x.net minutes
    400 x-net SMS
    Unlimited off peak SMS
    £10 Loyalty Reward
    Paying £5 p/m for Off-peak Data
    Last Upgrade: SPV M700 Free
Average Bill Cost: £50.98 (past 14 months)

Possibly a bit early to be asking, but advices appreciated :)

HANDSET IN FOR REPAIR AS THAT SHOULDNT BE THE CASE WITH 15 month old HTC, best day in my experience is to upgrade as near as to your 18 month point

Been after the N95 8GB for a while now. Retentions a couple of months ago offered it at £30 plus my usual £25pm tarif - upgrades now say £150!!!.

Due to arrangement at work can get 30% off all 02 tarifs - they have just reduced this phone to free on £35pm and so I would pay £24.50.

Thought I would go straight to retentions - asked for PAC code, they asked no questions as to why I wanted to leave and offered nothing.

So after 12 years with Orange it looks like BYE BYE

my OH phoned again on saturday and after a fairly long call was basically told she got too good a deal last time and hence why they cant do anything for her. She is now talking about going PAYG.

I've just spotted the post about 3 having a great deal on at the moment so if Orange dont want to play ball then its time to leave.

Well I finally succumbed. SE C905 on Dolphin 30 for £25pm, £49.99 for the phone and £110 credit to my account. I'll also get £93 for recycling mu current phone.

I believed I wouldn't have been able to get any better but I'm just happy to get a new phone :D
