well there does seem to be something odd going on at Orange. This deal was not available from all of their operators so its worth trying a few times...

I ended up being offered :

    1200 mins
    500 txts
    blackberry internet allowance
all you can eat internet access
    insurance
    new blackerry pearl titanium

all for the princely sum of £5 a month,

no i couldnt believe it either and neither could the next operator i spoke to. I said I woudl ring back to the first one as i needed to check out the handset, which incidentally is pants but have put the sim in my old blackberry so i am reasonably happy.

That said its not an iphone which is what started teh conversation in the first place.

Also you should be aware that I do make a lot of international calls, i also have another £25 a month phone and a £15 a month modem on the same account so i guess they really wanted to keep me !
awesome deal, id take it - if you wanna i-phone take the £35 x 18 you saved on that plan ( £630 ) & buy one !

BB 8120 Pearl Titanium is a Unique handset so get it ! I have one awesome although not 3G its a baby n a half

shop.orange.co.uk choose plans ;) business will match consumer I went to cancel - they offered me any consumer contract any phone free, free answerphone, free itemised billing & free & Everyphone
I spent £30 on the data card & never used it once except when Orange broadband was down & business/Premier re-credited me for that usage, guess they were trying to make some £ out me as the £30 data card certainly did not cost them £30 LOL, away to get it unlocked now end of contract

Orange Business care was much much worse than consumer ( except the non customer facing consumer depts ) so I declined the offer

.....business mobile & data went to 3, 3 Scotland Business Customer Care is above all the UK networks as well as being really on the ball price-wise ;)

  • My contract is up in a few days was on Dolphin 35, 300 x-net minutes, 400 texts, 12mth contract, 100% cashback.

    I rang upgrades today wanting a W595 with 300 minutes & 100 texts and was offered :-

    300 x-net minutes
    100 texts
    unlimited landline
    Free - SE W595

    £20 per month

ME - " I will see what else is out there, whilst i'm on can I have my PAC code please"

ORANGE - "let me put you through to disconnections"

I was then offered the same as above for £10 per month with a free bluetooth headset.

    I snapped their hands off.

Now living on the other side of the Pennines
  • Was offered a HTC Diamond, 700 min, 400 text, unlimited landline, £20/month, £55 handset...

Definitely Orange seem to be quite desperate to keep people onboard. I am still 6 weeks from being out of contract. I was cold-called yesterday by a guy from "Orange Loyalty' (is this a separate bit from retentions?) offering me a reduction in my tariff from £25 to £15, same minutes, unlimited texts. When I sounded a bit dubious and said the phone I was interested in (Nokia E71) was not available on Orange, he said it was available on Orange Business and he could get it for me, £49.99. Before I'd even got a reply in, he said, 'no, the phone will be free'. The catch is that this is with a 24 month contract. When I said I only wanted a 18 month contract he made the same offer on a higher tariff-but still less than I'm paying now. I said I'd think about it...
What I can't get my head around is why they would cold call an existing customer and offer them a new contract on £10 a month less? Had I phoned them and said I was going elsewhere unless they cut me a good deal I could understand it, but for all they knew I might have gone out of contract and been happy to go on paying £25 per month...and I'm not even a very heavy user, although I have been with Orange for about 6 years.
Has anyone else has this sort of experience?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Be carefull...Was it orange really calling you ?

Maybe a dealer signing you up for a new contaact on a NEW number leaving you to cancel your old contract should you wanty to
