Hi
Hope this is in the right place. Just called Orange to enquire about getting a contract for OH (he is currently on orange payg and we pay £15 per month). My intention was to get the c905 cheaper than I would have to pay for it for dd for xmas if I bought it for her on payg. I have a contract already with Orange - its my first one and I took it out in February 08. Started by going through to cancellations on the dialling options.
I was offered Racoon 30 contract (18 months) for £10 a month (i.e. £5 per month less than we are already paying) and £129.99 for the handset. OH will keep his existing phone and all I need now do is get a payg orange sim to give to dd with new c905 for xmas.
Anyone got any ideas on the best sim card deal tho? DD is on 02 payg at the moment (with lousy reception where we live) and I pay £15 per month for her to get 300 free mins and 300 free texts.
TIA. SVWhat larks eh Pip?0 -

My Orange contract runs out next week and I have just called to see what deal I could get and have been offered a Dolphin package with:
Either Nokia 6500 slide, classic or Samsung G600
200 minutes
unlimited texts
for £17 per month with a 15% loyalty discount.
I really only use phone for calls and texts not for the internet and want a small reliable phone - I always end up with a Nokia as have been happy with them but am open to suggestions.
I need to know if this is reasonable or if I should push for more ?
Thanks0 -
I would hold out for more, see my post below:

Just as a point, I went straight to the 'If you are thinking of leaving Orange' option on the phone and didn't even ask for a deal. I just asked asked for my PAC code and left them to ask why I was leaving.....0 -

After several email where orange wanted to charge £ 19.99 then £ 9.99 for the phones finally got this deal which I guess I'm happy with.
Certainly better than the one I had which including Insurance was £ 49.99 pm plus vat for only 120 shared minutes.
Anyway here's the deal.
Orange Venture 275 which cinsists of 385 any network anytime minutes, Unlimited Uk Landline calls and Unlimited Orange to Orange calls.
Free insurance
Two LG Renoirs
£28 exc VAT a month for the leader and £15 exc VAT a month for the sharer
24 month contract
Not as good as some consumer deals but there we go. If we hadn't wanted smart new phones I'm sure we could have battered them on the price on the tariff.
I'm happy. Can't wait to play with my new phone. Thats my christmas present to me sorted.:rotfl:0 -
OK- here's what I got
Panther 45 for £30 pm 18 months
including 1200 minutes 500 text, unlimited browsing, Touch HD £49 wouldn't budge on that, £49 credit was offered on 400 minutes so I guess they banked on going over each month to pay back cost of phone.0 -

Hi,
Just managed to get:
500 Any Net Mins
100 Texts
Unlimited Landline Calls
SE C902
£15 per month.
As I was already paying £15 per month for 225 mins and 100 texts, I thought this was an excellent deal.
Thats a good deal. Did you regularly go over your limit in your previous contract period?
My OH is trying to get a better deal but the first person she spoke to wasn't offering anything at all. currently on a 400 mins + 100 txts for £15. Her mum has just got offerred slightly less minutes + same texts and a new phone for £10 a month.0 -
