Just to let you know I was offered samsung soul, 600 mins, unlimited texts and web bundle (sorrry don't know which one) for £25 p/m. Didnt take it as I believe I can get better if I wait until my contract has actually run out.

The reason why I believe I can get better is becuse around 4-5 years ago I was on a select 500 tarrif, where I got 500 mins and 400 texts for £25 p/m and they gave me a top of the range phone then. I had to up my mins and usage, so I didn't keep that deal when I upgraded again. The next deal I got (2 years ago) was 900 mins, unlimited text for £35p/m.

Now its upgrade time again.... I want the above deal but for £20 p/m.

Anyone else been successful, or do you think I have got as far as I can go?

Hiya knowledgeable Orange peeps. Have been on Talk time 120 mins for years and haven't updated phone since Aug 2006 12mth contract ran out then as well  Average bill is £33.83 a month. Rarely use all the 120 minutes and I send about 80 texts per month.

Have my heart set on the Nokia N95 8GB

Just phoned retentions and they have offered me NokiaN95 8GB to buy at £29.95 (wouldn't budge on giving it to me for free ) Dolphin 30 for £25 per month. 400 mins - unlimited texts and 250MB data £7.50 a month making it £32.50 inc VAT per month.

I phoned back and said how about Dolphin 25 - 200 min + unlimited texts and the 250MB data as that would bring my bill down to £26.50 but the very nice chappie said I would then have to pay £79.95 for the phone so it wouldn't actually save me anything overall.

I have 250 loyalty points apparently and he has taken them into consideration. I was really hoping to get the N95 for free.

    Whaddya think. Good, bad deal??

If you can get the N95 8gb out of them, let me know. Keep telling me it's out of stock due to phone problems!

They offered me a Sony C902, 8GB memory upgrdae, 750 mins, unlimited texts & free broadband for £25 a month! Still rather have the N95 though.

I've just been in contact with one of the reps online, and he told me I should ring and inquire about an upgrade next month. (I have 3 and a half months to go)

Currently, on my 18 month contract, I pay £30 a month, and get 200 minutes and unlimited texts, but I'd like more minutes and a new phone. (Not a nokia...I'd like the Samsung G600 really). Preferably, I'd like to be paying £20.

I usually go over my bill by £10-£20 per month, and have had some crazy phonebills. Is it better to inquire next month, and then just leave it until later on? Anyone got any idea of what kind of deal I'll be offered?

Go for the Dolphin package but when u go through the options....go to the "i want to leave" option instead of upgrade, as they can offer better retention deals.

See my post above for what they offered me....thought it was quite good!

I think that deal is pretty good, but I don't need their broadband, so that could shave money off it.

Was that an 18 month contract?

    Yes it's an 18mth contract.

Oh they still are out of stock. I will get a text when they have it back in.

So do I go for it - or try Vodafone or O2. My friend doesn't think I'll better what they have offered.
  • What number do I call from my orange phone? Do I say I wanna cancel my contract, or actually ask on retentions?
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

Why is everyone wanting the N95? What about the N82? I have it and prefer it, as it has the same features of the N95 but:
    - Less chunky
    - Better flash (xenon)
    - Faster
    - Expandable memory (comes with 2GB SD)

Not knocking the N95, but you'd get better value deals with the N82...£20 p/m = 600 mins + unlimited texts + bluetooth headset + free N82.
