yeh i know but some people have been offered deals that they say include insurance so does that just mean reallly the contract is £6 less if tghey didnt include insurance. also any one had any good deals under £15 on contract if so can you post them so i can see if my offer of :
    wildfire s
    200mins
    unlimited txts
    500mb internet
    24 months
    £12.50 a months

    is any good?
    thanks in advance

If you are interested in getting insurance for your phone, try your home insurance provider. I asked mine and they said it can be added on for a small premium, when i say small premium it was cheaper than Orange's £6 per month and no excess to pay either.

Can anyone help me please. Im due an upgrade on the 1st july. I have the iphone 3gs and want a white iphone 4. Im currently paying £50 on my contract which has been ongoing for the past 7 years. I also have my business contract with orange and pay £40 a month on that.
How can I go about trying to get a good deal for staying with orange AND getting the white 4?

Iv seen offers with other networks which is cheaper than what I pay just now with the 4.
    Thanks x

hi, i'm over due an upgrade but life has been really hectic... i currently pay 20 for 300 XNet minutes (use circa 230- 250), free landline, 100txts (ok), home broadband bolt on for 5.00 (old style, through 'insurance' deal), majic numbers and what was then quite a good phone.

i went into phonesfor you, told them i was on a short lunch break and asked what their deals were... they told me i could get a HTC wildfire and suggested i actually stay on the same contract as it was good. they didnt even show me the phone, just got one out in a box...and they then brought out the paperwork for me to sign! and wondered why i backed away. erm... do people really buy new 24mth contracts with such little thought? anyway, i'm going to call orange and see what they say. wish me luck.

OK so Orange aren't budging on a free Galaxy S2. Currently on
    18 month
200 mins plus 200 loyalty mins (enough)
    Free Landlines
    300 texts (enough)
    500 meg
    £25 a month + £5 orange care
They can keep me on this deal but i would need to pay £50 for the phone. Rang them today and asked for my Pac - he was adamant they couldn't give me a free phone over 18 months - even when I offered to go up to £27.50 to cover the cost. Gave me the PAC.

Also have the wife on the same account with a desire HD free last november and a better deal than I'm on. Current bills usually around £66 a month for both of us.

    Any ideas?

Not sure whether to go for this or not, what I really want to do is go SIM only on Orange but they have offered:

    18 months
    Blackberry 9780
200 mins (enough, I use my phone mostly for roaming with work)
    Unlimited texts
    750mb
    BB package
    £12.50 per month

What I might do is accept the deal, give the new phone to my daughter, sell her Blackberry Torch, sell my current Blackberry Bold and sell my iPod Touch to buy a new unlocked iPhone 4 from the Apple store. Good idea or bad idea?

what phone do you currently have out of interest? On the same tariff, minus the data and I'm paying the same price so I feel abit ripped off. I don't use internet now, unless I'm connected to a wireless network, horrible charges for data use before so really want something decent.

How long do you have left, want to see if I can get a Galaxy. It will be interesting the results!

I came from a Satio 18 month deal which ran out end of April- so been on a rolling monthly contract waiting until the S2 came out on Orange. Makes sense for me to stay with them as the Mrs is on the same account and calls between us are free but her contract finishes in 12 months.

Interestingly retentions rang me back today - wanted to know why I was leaving. Told them i couldn't afford to pay a one off £50 and that I would stay if they could waive this. She said she'd call me back.

30 mins later she did call back - could lower the handset cost to 11 quid and could put this charge on my next bill. So that's

    Galaxy S2 11 quid
    400 minutes
    300 texts
    unlimited landlines(couldn't live without this)
    500 meg internet
calls between the mrs & I free (same account)
    same orange magic numbers
    £25 per month + £5 orange care
    18 months

Took it. The phone arrives tomorrow.

Rang retentions yesterday and after a bit of toing and froing was offered:

    HTC Wildfire S
    400 anytime mins
    Unlimited texts
    500mb internet
    24 months contract
    £10 / month

Was happy with that so accepted today and the phone arrives on Friday. Might even sell the phone and keep my existing Hero which would make it the equivalent of £5.50 / month!

rang orange today and was told the galaxy s2 was out of stock and when queried the xperia arc they claimed it had been withdrawn from orange for the time being due to numerous reports of problems! Frustrated!

You may be happy with the Hero now, but are you sure you will be so happy with it in a year or so? It is a nearly two year old handset depending on when you got your last contract, you may find yourself wanting/needing a new phone midway through your contract and having to pay a fair amount for a phone with a worse spec than the Wildfire S

If I was you I would either use the Wildfire S, or try to get them to do the same kind of deal with a phone you do like the look of. Keep the Hero as a backup!
