Orange Retention Offers

Retentions just told me that they're expecting the Galaxy s2 on their systems by early afternoon, they're ringing me back then.
Ok, an update, at 1.30pm they offered me:
18 month contract
Galaxy s2 for £30
300 minutes (I don't use anywhere near this)
Unlimited texts
1.5gb Data (had to push hard for this)
For £30 per month. I'm undecided and was told the offer stands for 7 days. I could have got this for less if I'd gone with 24 months. Any opinions? Personally, I think it's not a great deal, but the phone cost seems to be the key for them.0 -

he said I can cancel the orange care after 4 months:T taking it down to £20 which is brill for me :jand what I spend as I'm a band 3 customer.
But I'm gonna try and remove it in a couple of days like previous poster. How did you get it removed was it hard to do ?
I seemed to get a better deal for including the orange care which can then be removed taking price down if that makes sense??
really please was worth the wait.0 -
Just to follow up on my post from the last page, I phoned up and was allowed to cancel the Orange Care, saving £6 a month, so my deal ended up as this:
A free Desire S
400 X net minutes
Unlimited texts
1.5GB of internet including wifi
50 MMS per month
24 month contract
£7.50 a month
If anyone can beat that I'll box the phone up and send it to them
how did you get it cancelled need to do the same as I have phone care through my bank ? was it easy to do , what did you say ?0 -
Orange Care has a 14 day cooling off period when ordered over the phone, so wait a few days then phone 150 and say you want to cancel the Orange Care, they'll put you back through to retentions who'll go through the usual spiel about how your bank/house insurance will take 6 months to replace the phone etc, but they can't stop you cancelling it, the whole process took less than 5 minutes.
My retentions deal was originally £13.50 with Orange Care or £13.50 without it, which made no sense to me, I questioned the retentions fella about this but he didn't have any answers, the truth is they get paid commission to sell Orange Care, I know you can't give an insurance product away for free as it's against FSA regulations, he essentially charged me £6 a month for it and told me it was free0 -

Just rang back and got this exact deal for £25 per month as my Orange Care is £5 per month under the original terms I took it out on years back, happy with that and ordered. They also said that the phone will be out of stock by tomorrow.

I'm probably going to leave it to be honest, a phone like that should have some decent insurance - and Orange care has always been spot on for me, replaced a few phones with it.0

Thought I’d wind things up in preparation for GS2 launch by asking for “that code thing so I can shop around and keep my number”. Spoke to Matthew who was pretty good until I asked at the end “Just out of interest, what customer band am I in?” “Oh we don’t do that any more.”
Offered:
Desire S free
600 mins
Unlimited txt
500 Kb internet
£15pm – 24 mths
Tasty but PAC now in the post.

Gs2 comes online this afternoon so.......
Call 1.

600 mins

I pushed for 1Gb internet and price went up to £35 and he was churlish with it too. I declined and rang again.

I asked about landlines & he said the 600 mins could be used for landlines too and was more than enough considering my low usage (true).
Pushed for 1 Gb internet – he came back with the above deal except mins dropped to 500 and phone went up to £112. He increased the mins to 600 again and I accepted the deal. I had lost the will to live!
Insurance is included “free” but I will be charged and reimbursed. Eh?
“What level customer am I?” “You’re level 5!”
Comments please?Judgement slightly clouded by stock running out and wanting GS2 in my hands on Monday! :rotfl:0 -
