Orange Retention Offers

  • My contract is up 06/07/11....well it should have been up 06/01/11 but Orange denied agreeing a 12 month contract and so I was stuck with 18 month. They refused to honour the contract, but supposedly made a note on my file to offer a very good deal on my upgrade when due....

Anyway, I'm thinking of the Blackberry Torch, so just phoned up to ask about it.
    I was offered
18 month contract @ £35 with free handset
    24 m @ £30 with £36 handset
    24 m @ £25 with £36 handset

She didn't even seem interested in telling me what was included in the contract until I actually asked:
    500 minutes
    unlimited text
    500mb internet

Think this is pretty poor considering I could use an external supplier to get a better deal with a free gift or cashback.... I had a call from one of these companies a couple of days ago offering me an upgrade and they said if I did it through them, it would just be a 24m contract and would not add on 3m I still have outstanding - anyone know how this works?

You can see above my last attempt at upgrading with Orange wasn;t great, so I've just decided to give it another go......
I've just been offered the BB Torch with
    600 mins
    unlimited text
    500mb internet
    magic numbers
    BB email etc...
    for 24 m @ £15 with free phone

When I asked the difference for an 18m contract, I was told I could have it for the same price and pay £31 for the handset :j

Really pleased and pleasantly surprised that it's such a good deal compared to what I was offered a few weeks ago, and I still had approx 6 weeks left on my contract :) Looking forward to it arriving on Tuesday.

Has anyone been quoted any deals on the Samsung Galaxy S2 yet?
  • Am still waiting for them to confirm when it is released - as usual Orange are probably loading it with bloatware....has anyone else had an update on the release date apart from "early June"?
I hope they can offer me something good- one guy in retentions mentioned I'll get a very good package once it's released due to my loyalty - been with Orange about 10 years.

Just got the Atrix, retention deals were pretty poor tbh.

Went into Orange shop and got it free on panther 35, but as I am in the army I got 25% off so paying £26.25 ( this is true for most public sector workers I believe too). Happy days.

The battery life is twice that of the Galaxy S2 (which my mate has). I am so glad I went for this in the end.

My contract ends 1st June, been paying £25 per month for last 18 months so rang Orange retentions to see what they could offer - the best they could offer me is:

    HTC Desire (not S)
    100 Mins
    Unlimited Texts
    250mb data
    18 months

    £25 per month :eek::eek::eek:

He was so unhelpful & couldn't care less if I stayed with Orange or not & I have been with them for about 6 years.

I didn't expect a superb deal for pennies but something a lot more reasonable than that!

I'm now waiting for my pac code.

    Shocking service from Orange
    :)

    Update!

Rang back to clarify pac was on way & spoke to a very nice lady who was amazed her "colleague" wouldn't do anything better so the end result was:

    HTC Desire S - free
    200 mins
    Unlimited texts
    500mb internet
    24 month contract
    £15 per month!

Very pleased with that. Now got to decide if Desire S is def the phone I want for the next 2 years!
    :)

I've never been the best at this haggling thing. I tried the get the same deal as Blue Fox but was basically told that there was no chance that they'd be able to match that. Despite the fact that I can get 25% discount in store as I am a public sector worker.

So anyway I now have my PAC. What should be my next move? TIA!

Usually they hold back the good deals until you ask for your PAC number, that seems to open a lot more doors ;).
