after many calls to retentiions with me threatening to go Ive settled on this one .Htc desire hd black 24 months at 15 per month with 500meg 200 mins and unlimited txt .This was with 80 pounds down ,as ive got 6 magic numbers I really need to stay with orange .Not too bad there is cheaper out there but all of my family are on orange
  • First call to retentions offered up a free desire s with insurance on 24 months, 500 web, 200mins, unl text, 10 photo text, for £13.50.Took it.:j
  • Last 6 months average bill ~£32.00 on a previous 18month retentions deal of £25pm

    Offered
    Sony Experia Arc Free
    300 mins
    500MB Data
    Unlimited Texts
    £25.00 for 24 months

    Accepted
    Sony Experia Arc Free
    600 mins
    1GB Data
    Unlimited Texts
    £27.50 for 18 months

Very happy as was expecting a less up to date handset for around the same price. A geeky up to date handset at a good price is more important to me than getting the monthly cost right down, plus an 18 month contract is my preference.

PS. It would be great if this post was used a template for future posts, I think I included everything that anyone would need??:)
  • Called Orange today, and have been offered the following which I'm going to think about, have asked them to call me back tomorrow morning.

I'm currently on a £15 sim-only which is by itself 200 minutes and unlimited texts, although that was increased to 400 minutes and to include internet for the same price as a previous loyalty deal, and I've been on that for about a year (having been with Orange on various contracts/simo for about 6 years)

Time to get a new phone though, so here is what they've offered:

    HTC Desire S - £159 one-off for the phone
    400 minutes
    Unlimited texts
    500mb
    30 picture messages
    Mobile internet dongle

    For £15 a month, for 24 months.

The mobile internet dongle will be a £5 charge but with a £5 credit back for each month (so its free), and after 12 months it can be cancelled but the £5 credit each month will stay. So effectively:

£15 a month for first 12 months, then £10 a month for the second 12 months.

This seems to be just what I want - I use around 200 minutes a month on average (sometimes more, sometimes less), and the MMS being included is also a bonus.

To buy the phone on pay-as-you-go it's more than £300, and since I'll be paying £15 (then £10) a month each month anyway for SIMO, the £159 for the handset seems pretty reasonable (compared to getting it free on a £25 a month which over the 24 months would be an extra £240 - and wouldn't have the MMS or the internet dongle for 12 months.

Think I will most likely accept this deal tomorrow, although if anyone has any feedback it would be appreciated :-)

500mb seems to be the standard so I take it that that would be enough, I know TalkMobile do the "unlimited" internet - but considering I use less than 50mb a month on my current Nokia, I don't see how I would go over the 500...if I'm mistaken please tell me!

    Thank you all. :j

  • Old deal:

    Any phone (except iphone)
    3000 mins
    Unlimited texts
    500mb internet
    Magic Numbers
    for £35 a month (18 months)

    New offer:

    Any phone (except iphone)
    2200 mins
    Unlimited texts
    1gb internet
    Magic Numbers
    for £25 a month (24 months)

Waiting for the galaxy s2, anyone know when orange are getting it? Also it's clear I have a lot of loyalty but it makes me angry when they still refuse to budge on the iphone...a shame as the white iphone is now available with orange I was told.

    Been offered...

    HTC Desire S Free
    400 mins
    Unlimited Texts
    500 mb internet
    £20 per month (24 months)

How does this sound? Was previously on a £20 a month tariff (bills ended up around £25) so not a big user.

Got my pac code off orange do i now wait for retentions to phone me. Or if i phone them whats the best number for retentions also what should i expect to pay for htc desire hd 300 mins 300 texts and 1gb. Currently have too much 900 mins unl text and 500gb data 35 a month 18 month contract.
  • I am currently on a £10/month SIM-Only contract which runs out in july, but i am within my 90-day upgrade period and really need a new phone.

    My current contract is

    200 minutes
    unlimited texts

    £10/month.

I am looking to get the desire HD, and dont really want to pay more than £15/month.

What sort of deals do you think i could get?

(I am going to phone retentions later in the week, because i am expecting credit in my account on 2nd may.)

DD has just come to end of her 2 year contract (was £20/month), she would like a HTC Desire Z, but Orange haven't got that.
I was offered a Wildfire for free with 200mins, Unlimited Texts, 500MB 'net for £10 per month, but have taken a £5/month 100 mins, unlimited texts month-to-month as a "holding" measure.
