Torch has been out of stock for quite a while as I kept hanging on for it, but decided on the bold which i think is better.
For those who are able to get a friends and family discount code the best time to use it is this month as it's 40% off line rental.
I got Bold 9780 (£50 handset price)
300 mins
unlimited texts
50 picture msgs
500mb (or 750mb) data
orange maps
all for £16.85 a month.
Nice Deal !0 -

Yeah, i've been calling up every other day and kept getting told 'they'll be in stock tomorrow' except tomorrow never came!
Got a proper answer today though, they ordered 3,000 of them, loads were faulty so they sent them ALL back. They got delivery of another 3,000 today so if they pass all the checks they'll be in stock tomorrow, so fingers crossed. It's my partner who wants it anyway!
Looks like you got a good deal anyway! :TThis thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
That what i was thinking = any truth in the more you call the less discount you get ???
None. The more you call the more they have to read (the longer you wait with idle chit chat while they are doing that). The amount of discount is not likely to change.
Was informed deals can change from call to call but from experience they very rarely seem to "get better" - they just tend to try and sell you more stuff you don't need.0 -
I called retentions and tried my luck as contract is up beginning of April. I asked about the iphone and HTC Desire and this is what I was offered.
Iphone handset £119
24 month
£35.75pm
600 mins
Free voicemail
500mb
unlimited texts
umlimited wifi
HTC Desire
Free handset
24 months
£22.77pm
700mins
unlimited texts
500mb
The lady was nice and helpful and said she would keep it on consideration. Not sure I would take either deal as I am trying to lower my costs. I currently pay £25 a month 800mins and unlimited texts.0 -

The Iphone there is just their standard plan for new customers. I'm in the same position as you and they offered me a bad deal like that, I'll try again in my last month. Will try and play on the fact that 3 are offering the iphone for £35pm with 2000mins unlimited internet and iphone only £69, but don't think Orange will budge. Needless to say I won't be going to three because my experience of them is truely shocking, maybe there'll be some new phones in the next couple of months too ...0 -

Same here. I mentioned to the lady what Three were offering and i think Orange are aware how bad Three's reputation is. I have been with Orange for years too. I have a mobile dongle with Three so I know what they are like but I am considering what Three are offering. The phone up front is £69, so a lot cheaper than Orange. I hope you get to find a good deal with the one you want. Keep me updated lol.0 -

That's what I thought seeing some of the offers others have got. Well that was my first call to them. Contract ends first week of April, so will try my luck a few more times. My brother has the HTC Deserice with Tmobile and he is really happy with the phone. I also went in store too and they didn't offer me any good deals. Will try again in March. Thanks smartcrab20000 -

Hi
After ringing retentions on thur and not getting a better deal I
requested my pac code on 13/01/11 to be used before 12th feb...I am now in my last 30 days.
The pac code came today along with the letter saying to ring orange for a better deal. Am I better ringing now or waiting until I am in the last few weeks to see if they will give me a better deal. I am after the Blackberry Bold 9780 with 500 min and 500mg of data ( o2 can do for £25.53)and have seen some people have got it on good deals with Orange.
thank you0
