Trying to sort out the other halfs contract which is due on the 22nd

Currently on a discounted deal (took a deal rather then cancelling contract when orange changed t&cs)

Deal is OK. Not so good. Should get more discount on the handset price.

Phoned earlier and spoke to a really nice lady..

Kept my current plan which is:

18 month contract
200 anytime mins
unlimited texts
500mb data

and free Blackberry Bold 9780. For £18 a month.

Second line is identical but with free blackberry torch which is out of stock until tomorrow.

All in all pretty happy with that, saving of about £22 a month in total.

Total rubbish.

But even retention have limits. The system is set so they can't go past a point. Its based on your spend over the last 6 months and how long you've been a customer.
Once you hit the limit that it, the CS agents can't over ride the computer...

Not sure. I called a number of times. Though the quality of deals got worse initially, but i called on the first day of my last month 3 times and with the quality increased from the 1st to the last call. I could have waited more, but the deal I got offered on the 3rd call was well below the actual cost of handset (desire hd) alone and I took it! Sold the handset (as already have an iphone for myself and nokai 5800 for my wife -- she uses the contract and is happy with the nokia) and my contract cost over 18 months came down to 5.14 total over 18 mths

Torch has been out of stock for quite a while as I kept hanging on for it, but decided on the bold which i think is better.

For those who are able to get a friends and family discount code the best time to use it is this month as it's 40% off line rental.
