Just spoke to a very nice lady in retentions and she offered the following deal
- HTC Desire HD
- 800 Min
- 550 Text Messages
- 500MB Internet
- Unlimited Landlines
- Keep magic numbers plus one more available every six months
- 24 months contract
- £12.70 / Month and £99 for mobile cost
I tried for 1GB internet but she said I'll have to pay £5 extra for that.
Quite happy with the deal to be honest. What do you guys think?
Thanks0 -

Been delving in and out of this forum for a few days to get some info on what Orange are offering.
I am currently on Orange PAYG and looking to move to contract as I want to get a smart phone and enter the world of mobile modernity!
After looking round on the internet, it was apparant Orange where perhaps not the best value - so I decided to call them to haggle.
After getting through to their general "upgrade to contract" department, they were offering nothing special and I was being very uninterested in them saying I had better offers elsewhere. So they put me through to retentions.
They tried to find out what I had been offered elsewhere but I didn't really tell them to force their hand! After a few rubbish offers and me saying I wasn't interested, the operator came back with:
20.42 p/m 24 month contract
Free HTC Desire
600 anytime any network mins
ultd text
500mb internet
magic numbers
Or they offered for £25.52 p/m an HTC Mozart with 800mins, ultd text, 500mb internet.
I said I would think about it and they made a note of the offer on the system. This was on Friday.
Come Monday - I decided I would try and haggle them down a bit more, but had every intention of accepting the offer no matter what (heard good things about the Desire phone!). So I called back and was told that they were no longer discounting the phones and I would have to pay £49.99 for the HTC Desire OR to get it free pay £25 p/m for the 600mins ultd texts offer.
I was quite p*ssed off so had a good moan but they were not budging. I ended up saying it didn't interest me and they didn't care - just thanked me for the call!
So, think I will try once more and ask for the PUC number and see what happens then! For various reasons I want to stick with Orange so just need to beat them down again!
The moral of my story though...if they make you a good offer and you are going to accept it - do! If you wait a few days like me, they might just change their minds and charge you for the phone!!!0 -

Offers made by Orange Upgrades/Retentions department are valid for till the end of day. The executive whom I dealt with told me the same when I called early morning. I called late in the evening and though they confirmed they had the offer on their system, the bloke decided to better it as they had received some more discounts. I ended up getting a brilliant deal so can't complain :rotfl::T0 -

Free HTC Desire HD
900 mins
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Tinternet (500 mb)

Does anyone know if you are likely to get better deals at a certain time in the month or week or anything? I'm already out of contract so I could upgrade anytime.
I called yesterday evening and they said the HTC Desire HD was out of stock and the retentions dept (rather than upgrades) were not taking calls.0 -

Well, no good or bad time.. depends who you get on the other end. Retentions department take calls. Just select retentions on the IVR.
If you call 150 from your under the mobiles menu, Option 4 is for upgrades and then in that Option 2 for retentions.0 -
