Just accepted this offer for the Nokia N8 on a 24 Month Contract
400 Mins
Unltd Landlines
1300 Texts
500mb internet
£18 per month
Very happy with this as before I was on 400 mins, unltd texts and 250mb for £35!!!! Contract finished about 6 weeks ago and I've just been waiting for the N8 to be released, this was the 2nd time I'd called, earlier in the day they'd offered to knock 2 quid off the price new customers were being offered so I said no thanks..the girl I spoke to in the afternoon was very surprised that was all I'd been offered, and gave me this. Just hope it turns out to be a good phone as I'm stuck with it for the next 24 months if not!!0 -
Apparently Orange "Launched" the Desire HD yesterday, but they currently don't have any stock.
So we should be in luck soon. I've apparently been added to the back order list so I should receive a text when they come into stock0 -
You're right, really annoyed they launched the Desire HD (I think on Wednesday/Thursday) without telling me.
They have offered me the following deals with the HTC Desure HD for free:
Racoon 25, 24mth contract
800mins
unlimited landline calls
300 texts
500Mb Data
£20/mth
Panther 35, 24mth contract
600mins
Unlimited Texts
750Mb Data
£25/mth
Dolphin 35, 24mth contract
800 mins
unlimited texts
500Mb data
£22.50/mth
I'm not a huge texter, but a little unsure what to go for as I might text a little more with a decent phone.Moneysaving since 2004!0 -

Pretty sure they didn't, why would they launch the phone if they didn't have any stock?0 -

I phoned Orange retentions just over an hour ago and he confirmed that they released the Desire HD Thursday but they completely sold out. The next batch will arrive next week.
I'm very surprised they didn't announce it on the usual channels, but I did notice this post earlier today which prompted me to phone retentions.Moneysaving since 2004!0 -
Sorry for the 2nd post, but just wondering if anyone knows a little more about how the deals work in retentions. It seems that I have a £15 loyalty reward. This is an oversimplification but that means I can get £15 off the tariffs. However that doesn't mean I can get the handset for free. There is a bit of a balancing act- in that I can use less of my loyalty reward and get my handset free on a lower tariff if that makes sense. The other thing that I don't understand is to do with the fact that they take into account recent usage and can "double your minutes" or give you better deals on some packages. For example they can double the minutes on some the Racoon packages for me. However they don't seem to be able to double the minutes on Dolphin or Panther. Anyone have a clue how it works?
What I am looking for is the following:
600xnet mins
at least 300 texts (but more if poss)
1Gb Data
Free HTC Desire HD
for £20 per monthMoneysaving since 2004!0 -
Hi, Contracts not up for 3 months yet but believe i can get an upgrade with Orange this week now.
Always been with O2 in the past and had a few good deals from them.
Do Orange offer any discounts when you upgrade with them early if you say your probably gonna cancel? Anyone had any deals from them when upgrading early?0 -

Hey I was in an orange shop recently and my contracts up soon ends on Jan the 5th i think. They offered the same contract with 10% discount, and a free phone, I think the best was the X10 mini and the Blackberry 8520.
This worked out worse for me as my current contract is:
panther 35 18months, but phones4u pay £10 a month towards it
600min
500 texts
500mb internet + blackberry internet
free blackberry 8900, which is better than the newer 8520.
I said no and walked out, would have been locked in for another 18 months, on a more expensive contract with a new phone I dont like. I would only ditch my 8900 for a Bold or the better curve, on a contract with similar bundles and cost of less than £25.
I did have my head turned by the advisor who said I can get an iPhone4 for £100 with 10% loyalty discount on the contract. I would have said yes but I have a friend on o2 who managed to get 30% off his £50 contract and the phone for £35.
You will prob get 10% discount, a free phone, or if you opt to stick with your current phone maybe a larger discount on line rental. I expect if you wait until closer to the end of your contract the will offer you a much better deal.
As for the iPhone apparently the prices come from apple but you can def squeeze pennies out of them, I cant see the iPhone deal I was offered on Oranges site but I've seen it offered on other sites:
mobiles.co.uk/orange-apple-iphone-4-16gb-black.html
carphone wharehouse are close
carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/choose-tariff/APPLE-IPHONE4-16GB-ORANGE/UPGRADE/NEW?network=ORN&contractLength=ALL&minutes=ALL&texts=ALL&internet=ALL&phoneCost=ALL&monthlyCost=31_50&offerFilterType=&offerFilterValue=&pager.offset=0
i dont think the can offer the 10% off0 -

I'd have thought you'd be very lucky to get a new phone in the first month of release for £20 a month. There's usually a premium for the first month as everyone wants one.0
