  • I'm still getting nowhere with Orange.
I think its because I'm only just inside the 90 day update stage, they say you can update 90 days before end of contract but give you such poor deals that it would be silly to:(

I've asked for my PAC but that didn't help either, maybe just do as Exhortation says and keep ringing them up.

Do they keep an update on your account every time you ring up?
  • dont think so john could be wrong though

i dont think u get a good adeal till at the end of your contract they jsut offer the chance to upgrade early-dont think u can leave early either

Got a deal I am really happy with, free Curve, 600 Mins, unlimited Texts, 500mb internet, blackberry services and a free bundle of photo messages for £17.50 per month. Its the best deal I have ever had with Orange:D
  • Called orange three times since the end of my contract and have managed to get the following deal after being initially put off staying with them at all because of the useless first member of staff i encountered who was very unhelpful!!

Second member of staff was better but promised to call when the Galaxy S was in stock - no phone call after 2+weeks.

Third member of staff was brill, got me a better deal even after I had mentioned i wanted to change my plan for a more costly one to get the phone for free!

    200 anytime mins
    300 texts
    unlimited landline calls
    standard 500meg internet
get to keep my free broadband
here's the clincher - Samsung Galaxy S for FREE
    monthly cost £15
    24 month deal.

Suits me fine, especially as i was resigned to paying £30 a month for a Phones 4 U deal to get the Galaxy S for free!

Contract ended and rang up Orange to request to move to PAYG, but they managed to persuade me to stay with this offer:

    200 Anytime minutes
    Unlimited Texts
    80 meg Internet
    Free Samsung Apollo

    £7.50 a month for 24 months :)

Does anyone know if you are better approaching retentions for a deal at the start of the month or the end of the month? (ie when are they more desperate to reach their sales targets)

My upgrade date is on the 30th of the month, don’t know if i should see what they have to offer then, or wait until the 1st!

With my last upgrade I got a free BB Curve 8900, 400 mins, unlimited texts and data for £21 a month., although my average monthly speand is usually around £35 - 40 inc orange care.

I’m hoping for a decent deal on a Desire on an 18 month contract (willing to pay up to £50 for the handset if the deal is right!)

It seems to be hit and miss, as long as you are in the last 30 days of your contract that is when they will offer you the best deal. If you ring up with 30 days to go and select the option that you are thinking of leaving orange and then you will go through to retentions.
  • At what point during an Orange contract can you upgrade via http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/orange-mobile-phone-upgrades.html? is it 90 days before your contract ends?

Also would you get the £100 quidco cashback on an iphone using the above link?

    Thanks :)
