As per my above message (if this merges then above this line anyway!) I decided I'd just ring Orange and see what happens.
Managed to get exactly the deal I wanted & better than in the shops from a very enthusiastic & helpful chap! Glad I don't have to go through the mess of changing my number etc...
Got a Sony Ericsson X10 Mini:
400 minutes
Unlimited Landlines
1300 texts
For £15 a month. Paying £5 for the seperate internet bundle. Will suit my needs! Got a cheap deal on my broadband thrown in too. Can't complain at all.0 -
Useless for me when I rang up, I'm on £25 Racoon and wanted an upgrade to Desire (£100) or Galaxy S (£150) , had to add £5 p/m for 500mb internet too:(
Tried tonight in Orange shop and they were worse + £50 per phone over the telephone price, got told to go down CPW and get it there as they are free on same contracts as Orange are charging for and unlocked/unbranded, he even said he upgraded at CPW as it was cheaper than even at Orange with his discount0 -
john i tried cpw over the phone im on a dolphin 25 contract just run out-they told me would have top pay for both galaxy and desire phones
give them a try though and let us knowWhat goes around-comes around0 -
Upgrade on Orange from CPW instore.
Probably the best contract for me.
Free Desire or Galaxy S Panther 40 (£7.50 discount) so £32.50 1200 min unltd text 500mb data, email, picture messages. Well that's massively better than Orange itself.0 -
thats good john so u got it fror 32? might phone them up againWhat goes around-comes around0

£32.50 upgrade instore CPW. Think it's Orange themselves that are doing the £7.50 reduction from £40.
I'm not sure whether to upgrade for £32.50 and 24 months contract + 3 months added on from my old one, but 27 months:(, which would be quicker and easier.
Or phones4u will buy out remainder of my contract (£50) cancel it and start another Orange but this time a 18 month free phone £27.50 deal like this maybe http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=421577&MPItemKey=421465&NetKey=4

yes i was thinking about that one john depends if u want the extra minutes really and u have to start another contract which means u can keep your numberWhat goes around-comes around0

My contract runs out in December, I called Orange to see if they could offer me anything now as my phone broke a while back and I'm using my chaps old PAYG phone.
I currently get 400 mins + unlimited texts for £20, plus and extra 200 mins and £10 per month discounted from my line rental (for not cancelling when they changed the 0870 thing last year). So 600 mins/unlimited txts for £10.
As it is I barely reach 100 mins and 100 texts, due to work and the crappy phone as it's a PITA to use.
The lady said all they could offer me was a free Nokia 5230 but my line rental will be back to £20 and I'll lose my extra mins. If I want any internet that will be £5 extra.
I've noticed a lot of people saying to wait until you're out of contract so I'm wondering if anything is likely to change if I wait? They said they don't even do the phone that I wanted (wildfire) so should I just look elsewhere now? I've been spoilt really with the £10 line rental, everything else now seems too expensive :rotfl:0
