thanks jon i thought it would besomething like that i guess it is possible
is there a time limit as in do u have to be with them on payg for a certain time before u can move the number? What goes around-comes around0 -
Not aware of one. Its no use, but the Orange rep was saying on here a while back that you could port into Orange in the morning and then ask for your pac in the afternoon !!
No use to you, but I'd think a week would be about right. Just call which ever network you port to and say that you're getting no signal and need to move to another network. Job done.0 -
thanks jon good idea-its the only way i'll be able to get the deal i want it looks like although he said prices could come down he wont know whenWhat goes around-comes around0

Handset price do drop the longer they're out. But if a model is very popular they'll keep the price up to make more ££. So it's not like in month one it's X and then drops by, say, 20% each month after.0

no i know i just thought with the desire hd coming out others might drop but maybe not- they didnt seem to want to match any other deals eitherWhat goes around-comes around0

The price may drop when the Desire HD is available, but that's not until the middle of next month and maybe even longer with Orange as they put their terrible network branding software on most of their phones and that takes a while to get done.
No, they won't match other networks, that could end in a price war and they won't get into that !0 -
Was planning to buy a Wildfire and get a Giffgaff sim, but figured I'd phone Orange first. I'm out of contract (was on Dolphin £20-£5 websave with a Samsung G600, 24month contract) and phoned up retentions to see what they'd offer.
Apparently they don't do the Wildfire. Instead they offered 200 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data (500mb, but fair usage so no charges for going over, instead they'd throttle the speed, apparently its an old bolt on they are offering because of my loyalty points?), and a Samsung Galaxy Apollo, for £7.50 pm over 24 months. Supposedly the Apollo is comparable to the Wildfire?
Seems like a decent deal, but I'm quite set on the Wildfire, so will probably through Dial A Phone to get a Wildfire with 100 mins, 500 text, 500mb data on a £20 pm contract for 18 months, but with cashback its under £9 pm.0 -
Hi there,
I 've been with Orange for 3 years, can I have my 20% discount line rental when I get the iphone?
Orange says they give you 10% off first year, 15% 2nd yr , 20% off 3 rd year.
Does anyone know whether I 'll get my 20% off if I go for iphone?0 -
not sure it applies to the iphone theyre pretty strict on their tariffsWhat goes around-comes around0

Hi,
I am coming to the end of a 24 month contract (it finishes on Oct 26th), which was £15 a month for 100 mins and unlimited texts and no data. Usually go about £5 over my bill.
Am thinking about my new phone and have found some good deals on other networks.
3 and T-Mobile are both offering 300 mins and unlimited texts and data on the Sony Ericsson X10 mini for around £15/20
and T-Mobile here in York are offering a HTC Wildfire with 600 mins, unlimited texts and data for £20.
Would prefer to stay with Orange with either of these phones at a price of approx 200/300 mins, unlimited texts and data for £20.
What is the best way of going about that? Don't want to stay on my orange contract another month by missing the deadline of handing in my notice.
Should I ring to hand my notice in now and see if retentions will offer me anything better or do I need to wait for exactly 30 days on Sunday?
What sort of offer do you think I should be expecting?
If they don't offer me anything, and I ask for my PAC number will my Orange phone work til the end of my contract or will the cut it off then but keep charging me?
Have never done the whole retentions thing before, always used to just take whatever upgrade I was offered.
Any advice would be much appreciated... one last question, perhaps silly... do the retentions dept work in the evening or strictly a 9-5 jobby?0
