In reality since the 25th June. It took me phoning up on 21st Aug to find out the deal offered was saved but I hadnt been put on the back order list. I then got re-added to the list and was told to phone back 5 days later for a stock update.
Phoned again on 26th and was told they were expecting a stock in on 2nd Sept. Kind of got the feeling after speaking to the guy that I still hadnt been added correctly at that point. So I would say probably waiting since 26th August

Total shambles to be honest.

Tried to haggle on the one off price for the phone due to the unreasonable delay but they weren't having it.

Just read this so rang up as I have been waiting a couple of weeks for mine and finally got them sorted. So I should have 3 shiny new desires on Tuesday for my 3 contracts:T

Hi people, i been out of contract for nearly 1 month (waiting for the desire to come in stock) but to get the BEST deals is it best to ask CS to transfer me to Upgrades department OR retentions?? (or any other to get the best renewable deal?)_

Contact retentions to get the best deal. I always find some other networks offer that I am interested in and ask the retentions dept. to beat it or I am leaving

Pick the option for 'thinking of leaving Orange' that'll get you to retentions.

I'm out of contract and my latest bills from orange are over £70 due new business start. I was looking through the deals but can't see anything with good amount of minutes
I need at least 1200min and web, don't care about texts and need decent strurdy phone for email on the go (like Blackberry or SE X10, HTC Desire/Wildfire). I would prefer 18 months contract. What kind of deal I could realistically get from retentions?
Any sugestions are welcome, I just don't want to be fleeced by Orange
