    Hi
I called the freephone number on their website, I told the guy I spoke to that I was going to go on Pay as you Go spening £10 a month and he went off and spoke to someone in disconnections who then offered me the deal, it's an 18 month contract.

    I was paying £26 a month.

I would definately call them back if I was you.

    Best of Luck

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they can offer me :)

When Orange call you regarding running out of contract, is it from a withheld number?

I was without my phone all weekend, I'm a few days away from the end of my contract, and somebody phoned me from a withheld number...

Yes, mine was from a withheld number and when they rang OH a few months ago, that was from a withheld number too.

I've just rang 343 to upgrade my phone, asked about the K850i and they offered it to me for £79.99, which I don't want to pay at all! quote]

Just re-read your post and just wanted to say that the phone I was offered was the K810i not the K850i

No-one rang me from Orange!! I had to call them

Do I ask for disconnections even though i've still got 2 months to run on the contract??

Read this. It's best to wait until you're within a month of your contract ending. That puts you in the best position to negotiate.

I just spoke to the retentions department, my contract is up for renewal at the end of the month.

I currently have 2 phones on this contract and wanted to add another, asked the guy to give me the best deal he could, after 20 minutes of talking I finally got something close to what I wanted. Tytn II free, 250mb data package free, 700mins, 100 texts, unlimited land line calles for £30 a month. Really the only perks he gave were the data package and the £80 cost of the phone. Evetything else is just the standard racoon package.

I then asked him about upgrading the 2nd phone to the new sony w890i, but according to him orange work on a points system. He claims that I used all my points up to get the first deal with the Tytn II so if I want to upgrade the other phone it will be £100 for the handset and no discount from the line rental.

As far as the 3rd phone that I wanted goes, he just transferred me to the sales department who said there would be no movement on the price, £90 for a 2nd TytnII handset and £30 a month contract. No offers at all

Anyone know if this point system exists or if any of the other networks will offer me better deals for putting all the phones under one contract?

    thanks

    Yeah, thanks, it was them.

    Gone from :

    Orange Dolphin £25 a month 18 month contract, 100 minutes, 200 texts

    to

£15 a month, 150 minutes, 300 texts, unlimited weekend and evening texts, no contract duration (so can quit whenever I want), and can upgrade to a new phone in 3 months. No new phone, though, but since I got a new W850i with the last contract I don't mind.

I didn't even go through to Disconnections :/ I'm not very fond of this whole 'phone bargaining' thing, so I'm happy.
  • They just offered me Nokia 6500 slide.
850 mins, 400 texts, magic number, unlimited Internet and unlimited Orange calls for £30.
or 750 mins, Unlimited text, Magic Number, Unlimited internet for £30.

I currently have 750 mins and 1000 text for £20. I told them no deal, they said to wait a while as I still have 3 months remaining on my current deal.

    Any thoughts ? Is the 6500 a nice phone ? I wanted a Nokia N95, they want £130 for that, I laughed.
    nothing.
