Hopefully someone else will chip in, but I can't see them letting you cancel a couple of months after getting your shiny new upgrade!

Presumably you would have to pay the line rental until the end of the minimum contract term from accepting the upgrade. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Which ties you in to another 12 months minimum!
I just realised what I said could have been construed as meaning you would be free to cancel whenever.
You have, as such, started a new contract. Say it's 12 months - if you wanted to cancel next January you'd have to pay line rental up until May.
Also, if you have any discounts - the line rental you'd have to pay off would be full price. So if you pay £25 reduced from £35, you would have to pay them £175 rather than £125 (meaning Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May). Unless you'd reduced the line rental before.0 -
I understand what you are both saying, but if I wasn't told about it when I upgraded and I don't receive any paperwork with the phone, surely they can't hold me to another contract term as I would know nothing about it! (Well I do now, but only because you guys have told me
)

Well I've written down the time and date of the phone call and if (IF!) I don't receive any paperwork, I guess I'll only find out, if I did want to cancel, say before another 12 months are up!
If there is paperwork with the phone, fair enough, but I'll still ring and complain and say that this was not outlined on the phone call.
Then send the phone back & cancel the contract.
Then have a son with a gob on, on his birthday! :rotfl:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Cheers Toontastic!
Quick question - I haven't upgraded my phone for 2 years now on £25p/m, in some cases it went £50, so I guess I must have a lot of points? I was going to try and get the TYTN 2 but heard the Nokia N82 and N95 8GB will be released soon, any idea when?
Thanks for your time!
Jon
The N82 I have no details on but the N95 8GB is defo coming out during may direct through Orange. So quick as ever with their releases.. We have also been told the N96 is due out in August through Orange.0 -
there is no way you can get a new phone without having a minimum term. This usually would have been read out to you in the final blurb on the call, r u sure this wasnt mentioned? If you were previously on an 18 month deal it would extend another 18 months0

also paperwork means nothing! anything read over the phone is as good as a written contract. and if you ring up next year wanting out of your contract when you have been entered into a new deal there i practically nothing that can be done because we go by the notes on the system. So your stuck!0 -

Nothing was mentioned about the contract carrying over to another X months, nothing at all.
Do Orange keep records of phone conversations?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
