I've just got the K850i, 600 mins, unlimited texts and I get to keep my magic numbers, all for £30 a month. The only thing I'll lose now, are my rollover minutes, but I'm not too bothered about that as I've always had spare to carry me over.

I could have paid £25 a month but I wouldn't have got that phone.

Can I just ask though, they never mentioned anything about me taking out a further contract (ie, they never said it would be for another 12 or 18 months), so does that mean I've just got a bog standard upgrade and could still cancel in a few months if I wanted to??

    Oh cool! :D

So I could still cancel whenever I wanted too?! Not that I want to, but I didn't want to get tied into a further 18 months contract.

How? The advisor didn't mention anything about that

They told me what I would get, I accepted and that was that.

No mention of my contract running on for a longer length of time at all.

What about the paperwork delivered with the upgrade handset?

I haven't had the phone delivered yet, I only rang Orange this morning, so the phone is due to be delivered on Tuesday.

Surely they should mention something on the phone though before you agree to the upgrade

Just asked OH and when he upgraded, the phone just came in its box, no paperwork was there at all. That was in January.

The last upgrade that I had from Orange, stated that the contract would be extended by a further 12 months in the accompanying paperwork.

Why do you think that fancy new handsets are offered to you? This is standard practice with all mobile operators.

But if I dont get any paperwork with the phone, the same as OH, then surely they can't make me stay on a further contract and likewise with him if he wants to cancel his contract?

Hopefully someone else will chip in, but I can't see them letting you cancel a couple of months after getting your shiny new upgrade!
