i was on orange for £25 a month for unlimited texts and some minutes (dunno - im deaf and dont use minutes) and a free blackberry because i wanted to type fast but no email was needed. Now 16 months later, my contract was almost up, so i called the rententions department.

after a lot of haggling, a few phone calls, I got 18 month contract that has

A free shiny new blackberry 8120
£15 a month contract for 100 mins and unlimited texts
£6 for 6meg internet and email (blackberry tariff)

    total per month £21.

I am more than pleased with myself. You wouldnt get this blackberry anywhere for less than £30 a month!! (unless on 24 months plans) and you will have to pay on top of that for the blackberry tariff! (o2 charges £10 extra for that)

(Its worth haggling. They oringally wanted me to pay 59.99 for a blackberry...i went crazy with them asking why new customers get it for free whilst a loyal customer would have to pay for it and ended the call.)

    thanks martin!

wow thats great and exactly what i fancy. might give them a call when the boss goes out..

    UPDATE:

I was offered 100 mins and 300 texts for £15/month
    plus 6MB data for £6/month = £21/total

but she said blackberrry would be £59.99 boo hoo

i told her the tariff sounded quite competitive but that i wasnt prepared to pay for the handset when i could get it free by switching.

so i need to work on that. how did you get unlimited texts out of them?

you should NOT pay for a handset. You are entitled to a free upgrade. It doesnt make sense that you should pay 59.99 for a blackberry.

Try this...tell them online you can see a dolphin 15 package which is 100 mins and unlimited texts. Why cant you have that?

the truth is, for the last few months of my contract, i have to pay £5 extra, but that would make it £26 a month only for a very very few months.

I've mentioned the N9 to them a few times they always warn you off the handset bad battery lots of people returning them etc. I was offered the K850i but alot of people are saying the cams not very good when it gets dark as theres problem with the flash
