1) The phone would be £49.99 upfront
2) Delivery would be another £3.99
3) You'd only get "free evening and weekend internet" for 2 months, then have to pay £5 a month extra for it.
4) You'd have to take a new number as a new customer.
So your loyalty would have saved you £173.98 over 2 years.
Like a cat with a slice of burger cheese stuck to its' face, you have failed here.
1) Did i say i cared about keeping the same number? How does that even figure into the arguement? If I get a new number I text it out to my contacts, easy.
2) Phones 4 U in my local high Street offered me it for free, with no delivery charge, as I would walk out the shop for it, with free internet, all day (special offer) 400 mins and 3000 texts a month.
I will give you that I got the price wrong:eek: it was £25 a month, but hey ho, I can admit when I'm wrong, unlike some. In any case it's still much better than the loyalty "discount" offered by Orange.Wins 2009:Total : £2500 :jFirst they came for the crack users; but I said nothing. I was not a crack user. Then they came for the heroin users. But I said nothing - I was not a heroin user. Then they came for me. There was no one left to speak for me. (after Pastor Niemoller)0 -
Here I go again, still negotiating OH contract. So far I think I have got pretty good deals for myself and my sister.. but OH is proving hard work
After a lengthy (45min) chat the best I have got:
BB Bold
18 month contract
400 min
550 texts
Unlimited landline
BB Bundle
£49.99 for the phone
£25 per month
He is currently on a £25 a month contract (18months due up next month) with £10 discount= £15 a month + £5 orange care so £20 a month
We have been with Orange about 3 years and he has gone over at least 4 times in 18months ie £40-£60 bills
They have said tonight that they are only calculating on last 6 months, and he has lyalty of £300
Trying my best to negotiate the phone free as I did for myself and my sister...
If at first you dont succeed try, try again..
:-)
For a retentions thats not a great deal. As a new customer i got the Bold 9700 free on a £25 a month contract for 18 months with 600 minutes, 500 texts and the blackberry package.0 -
Anyone know if Orange will be doing the Motorola Milestone or Xperia X10 directly anytime in the near future?0

X10 is rumoured towards end of March/April time.0

X10 is rumoured towards end of March/April time.
Have heard that rumour. Sad thing is that the website doesnt really show anything upcoming and I find the direct range of handsets to be quite lacking these days.
Am out of contract on one of my handsets, and tempted by the Motorola Milestone which seems to be released via third party sellers on Orange from 23rd February or perhaps the X10 when/if it eventually gets released.
Sad thing is that going down that route means cant use the loyalty bonus built up. Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated as i've seen you are usually on the money with your advice here.0 -
I got a call from retentions last week (my contract ends in 20 days) and said that although I was happy with the service, there was no handsets on show that I liked the look of so I wqas going to go to Vodafone for an Iphone deal which working out £100+ a year cheaper even as a new customer (true it wasn't a threat). The woman I spoek to on the other end of the lne said it was a shame they couldn't do any deals on Iphone's as I had so much loyalty bonus available. I reiterated that while happy with the service there were no good handsets and she offered me either the HTC Bravo or the SE Xperia X10 at the beginning of March and promised to call me back as soon as the stock arrived. She may have been giving me a spiel but did sound genuine enough about the handsets availability next month. Hope that helpsLBM 2 - 27.05.09. £10 a month for a
free samsung s5600,
400 minutes,
800 texts,
all landline calls free,
unlimited internet
went straight through to the "if you are thinking of leaving orange" and said i was definitely leaving etcetera. got a good offer for £20 a month for an htc hero, but this £10 a month with the free phone, and free internet, is really really cheap, and probably works out better
thanks to everyone for their posts and advice, it helped

It means it uses a lot of data because like other smartphones, it loads full webpages and you can download apps, watch you tube etc.0
