They have N95's ... I have one on it's way ordered today! =)
  • I've got a viewty (on orange) and although the touch screen is great, the camera on it is a bag of spanners. The difference in photos I took with my old N73 (which was rubbish, and kept turning itself off) is incredible - and that only had a 3.2mp camera

Given the choice again I think I'm disillusioned with the poor poor quality of nokia (I had one every 2 months of the N73) so would have looked at Sony Ericsson.

Have you thought about going for something different and asking for cash?

The other year they didnt have the phone I wanted, when I wanted it, so they gave me a £100 on bill (that's orange retensions)

  • Im new too all this, but been watching this post for a while as been trying to blag myself a bargain through orange. Just thought i would inform you all of my experience with orange retentions.

Been with orange for a while, on contract for about 3 years and currently have the free broadband and on dolphin 35 with 18 months contract. My contract ran out on 22nd feb and phoned retentions on the 21st to see what i could get. I had 500 mins and unlimited texts but i wanted to see what they could do.

The guy i spoke too was great, got on talking and asked him if he could offer me a deal to stay with them, new phone etc. Came back with same minutes and texts a new phone of my choice (went with SE K850i and very impressed despite reviews i have heared) and keep the broadband but for £30 instead of £35 not bad but i thought he could do better. I played on the fact i didnt want another 18month contract he had a look and came back with all that for £25 and another 100 mins.

I was happy with that offer considering broadband alone would probably cost about £10 and so i signed up. Not a bad deal i felt not the best but im happy saved me £10 a month, £180 over the contract cosidering i was just going to accept the same £35 contract before seeing this post. I never mentioned leaving them just said that i felt there were better deals around and was there anything better they could offer me to sign up to a new contract.

Thanx too all previous posts and information i hope you have similar success in getting a good deal.

    18 month contract
    £25 a month
    600 Mins
    unlimited texts
Free landline calls 7pm till 7am
    New SE k850i
    free broadband:j
  • Just got the same deal as dom87 without even trying Great saving !
  • dom/frankie, do you mind me asking your average bill? Or to be less specific do you often go over your tariff?

I really do not wanna change to another provider because of the hassle but Orange are simply not offering me an incentive to stay...
  • My monthly bill ocasionally edged just over the £40 mark but i never had any major bills exceding that, the bills were nearly always a little over each month by a few pounds.
  • I could not get them to budge from their position and accepted a free Orange Tokyo on my Everyday 50 upgrade. They happily went ahead with the cancellation when I threatened to leave so I had to back down :p

Have another Orange contract which finishes in May. Will try my luck again with that.

I used to be on a cashback deal but since they all went bust I'm now paying £30 for 350 minutes and I think 200 texts or something similar with a crappy w810i.. Is that a bad deal or good?

I was hoping for something with GPRS/wap usage included as well but they said it would be £8 extra for that..

Is there anyway to get a better deal before the contract ends in June, or do I have to wait till then? It's just at the moment I have two of these contracts on Orange that I'm stuck with.. it would be okay if the cashback companies didn't go bust..

I got a 12 month free Orange deal from OSPS last April and also got the free broadband and just paid £5 a month for the Livebox calls, so have just started to look again for when this contract finishes. I was looking to keep with Orange for the free broadband, but the best deal I can find at the moment works out to £7.49 a month, again with OSPS.

What are the chances of getting a good retention deal on the broadband if I don't stay with Orange for the phone?
  • Why don,t you ring them to ask what they will offer you.

I would be very interested to find out because i,m soon to be in the same postion as you.

Some people i know have had very good deals to stay with them but that was around six months ago and they might have changed their promotions now (as they do).
