Orange Retention Offers

Ok. You may have to wait until 9 months are up on a 12 month deal, but explain that IF they make you a really good offer, then you will consider an 18 month contract..or if you dont fancy that, then a new 12 month deal. You may be suprised.
If you are a light-user, mention one of the racoon deals..and see what they offer you. They would rather put you on an 18 month deal with a reduced price than see you leave. See what they can offer on the £25 and £30 packages.
Good luck.
Remember! If you are not happy with the person you are speaking with, DONT ASSUME THATS ORANGES FINAL ANSWER!
Try again later in the day.. ask them to call you back in the evening...that worked for me!!0 -
Just spoke to upgrades...(and was going to do the whole 'PAC/cancellation/retention thing)...hoping to get an N95 8GB or even the N82...but...the dude said Orange will no longer give any N-Series phones! :-O How cr4p is that?!
He said "Orange are losing millions" because customers have reported loads of problems with them, they are getting returned, and it works out better for them to discontinue the N-Series.
I like my Symbian phones...so I asked about the W960i...and noooo they don't do that either!
Anyone know what's the best, top of the range smartphone/Windows phone out now? Or soon to be released? Should have asked the dude if the W960i will be released later...anyone know?
Will probably end my contract and go elsewhere...
Cheers,

does orange still do the free broadband?I had the free bb when living in my previous home but when i moved i had to cancel it as had no BT line so had to go with virgin media which are a rip off.
I was told in january that I could upgrade my phone in feb as my 18month finishes in may(should of finished b4 then but i got the free bb which re started my mobile contract from the bb date)
I really dont know if i should stay or should i go.0 -

I have just renewed my contract with Orange for another 18 months at £30 per month - free handset (HTC TYTN II), continued my free broadband and got 500 x-network minutes, 250 texts and a 5MB data allowance. I appreciate that I could probably have got a better deal had I persevered but basically I'm really happy witth what I got.
The HTC TYTN II is an awesome smartphone though and I am delighted I went for it - I had a look at the W960i and this blows it away as far as I'm concerned; the only great feature the Sony had over the HTC was the 8GB on-board memory, with the HTC you need a micro-SD card. The HTC has a 3MP camera, wi-fi, bluetooth, WM6, onboard GPS, touchscreen but also with full tiltlable qwerty keyboard. Decent review here http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2007/09/07/htc_tytn_ii_review.0 -
Cheers for that info billymac.
That PDA phone does look good. Though don't you need both hands to use it?
What's the battery like?
I chose my Nokia N70 for video recording (was decent with 352x288 25/30fps back then)...what's the photo and video like on the TYTN II?
Cheers,

i just phoned up and selected the option to disconnect - asked for my pac code and they asked why. i said i suspected i could get cheaper elsewhere..
without really trying i got a free htc tytn2 (wanted it for work, rrp is about £400) and a £5 discount on line rental, with the option of racoon 30 for £25 or racoon 35 for £30.
i was happy to go with it as it saves me the effort of cashback!
was this on a 12 or 18 months contact?0 -
Okay I got a couple of questions which I would appreciate someone clarify. I called up upgrades yesterday to be told that since I am a low tariff, the only phones I can get free of charge are the Orange Tokyo and the Nokia 2610. I remember checking upgrade prices for my account when online upgrades were available (before 4th February) and there were a number of additional phones like the Nokia 6300 etc which were also free of charge.
Now I have been told that the deals have changed blah blah and I cannot have phones apart from the two basic ones free of charge. Reading this tread it seems quite obvious that people threatened to leave to be offered a good deal by retentions however some people have had their disconnection requests processed without any offer.
My questions are:
(a) if i go to disconnections and ask to be converted to pay as you go, I believe this is equivalent to giving 30 days notice. If in case they do not offer me a deal and process the disconnection request (which they might do as they might want to clear off old tariffs), can I change my mind and cancel the disconnection request within the 30 days notice period?
(d) do the retention people require you to sign up to a new tariff, as in my case I do not want to do that.0 -
